Established in the year 1997, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a constituent institute of Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok. Candidates can apply for SMIT Sikkim admission to UG (BTech, BCA) and PG (MTech, MBA) degrees. Candidates applying for admission in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology first are required to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria of the desired course and then register for admission by visiting the SMIT Sikkim admission portal. In order to take admission in BTech and MTech programmes candidates need to appear for SMIT Online Test/JEE Main and GATE/SMIT entrance exam respectively. SMIT Sikkim also offers admission through lateral entry in BTech and MCA courses. As per Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology admission process, candidates are required to participate in the institute level counselling, if required. Most of the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology scholarships are offered to the BTech and MTech students only. The institute has dedicated scholarships for the students taking admission in BTech programme through lateral entry. In order to avail the SMIT Sikkim scholarships there is a certain set of eligibility criteria which need to be fulfilled by the candidates. The eligibility criteria of the scholarships are set by the institute only. According to the Sikkim Institute of Technology scholarship policy, students eligible for the BTech scholarships are given concession in the tution fees. The degree of concession in the BTech tuition fees depends upon the marks obtained by them in the 10+2 examination.
There is a solo scholarship i.e. Institute Means Scholarship for students who need financial help and belong to the poor section of the society. SMIT Sikkim scholarships for BTech lateral entry students can be availed on the basis of score obtained by them in the engineering diploma or BSc degree. One student can only get one scholarship at a time.
SMIT Sikkim aims to provide placement to all the students and for this the institute has a dedicated training & placement department. The T&P department is responsible for conducting SMIT Sikkim placement drive and training students for the interviews. A special programme known as capability enhancement programme is run by training and placement department. Under this programme students work on their soft skills, communication skills etc. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology placements report, 360 students got placed in top companies like Providence, Nomura, Dell, Microsoft, Dxc, Smith, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, Ncompass, Paragyte, Brillio and others. SMIT Sikkim scholarships are only offered to students who meet the eligibility criteria set by the college. Maximum number of scholarships are for BTech and MTech students only. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology scholarships to BTech students are provided on the basis of marks obtained by them in 10+2 examination, immediate siblings of the already enrolled student and candidates sponsored by government. SMIT MTech scholarship is offered to top two students who obtained highest marks in GATE or SMIT entrance examination. Apart from this, SMIT Sikkim scholarships are also offered to the students from the financially weaker section of the society. The institute also offers scholarships to students taking lateral entry admission in BTech programme. One student can only avail one Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology scholarship.

I'm pursuing bca from their online program so the offline campus facilities are no use to me. But I've visited the campus once and I have to say that there is no such facility that isn't available on the campus

The institute is reputed for its state of the art infrastructure, well stocked air-conditioned library, advanced technology laboratories, a sports complex with swimming pool, food court, separate boys and girls hostels with rooms having attached baths, 24 hourswater with hot water facilities for winters, night canteens inside hostels, a electrical sub-station for 24 hour generator support etc.
The institute is situated in the river of the beautiful banks of Teesta. It is far from the city crowd. It has a most pleasant and peaceful environment for education. The placements are very good. Also the climate are pleasant. Mostly the winter attitude is present there all over the year. But rain has also come. Overall it is very much body soothing.
