Batch of 2017 | B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering
My Journey at Silicon Institute started in 2013 when I took admission in EEE branch of engineering. Silicon is one of the most popular institutes of Eastern region. The only way to get into the college is by getting a good score in JEE. Silicon has two branches in the state, with the one in the capital city, Bhubaneswar and the other located little far away in Sambalpur. In Bhubaneswar branch, there are no core branches so you have to restrict yourself for semi-core branches. I took up EEE because it would give me knowledge of Electrical and Electronics in the same time. In terms of education, this university is top notch as it provides you with the best of the best teachers. The faculty and administration in the university are so strong almost all the students excel in terms of knowledge. Almost all the faculties are from top universities of the country, there are various tests, Projects, Internships, Industrial Training given to all the students in the 4 years of Engg. that it makes a person highly skilled and valuable.

It's more like a convent school than a college. Including studies, they keep on mind about the punctuality and behaviour. Teacher's teaching is one of the best thing. We can clear doubt at anytime without any fear. The only things is that theirs no longer days of holiday. Theirs no chance of any mass bunk like other colleges. Rules are to be followed strictly for every member of siliconite. In hostels, late entries are strictly prohibited . It's being my best decision to join this college.

As an engineering college from BPUT, ODISHA, it may be considered as an decent college in terms of number of placements, but a lot of things need to be improved. The campus infrastructure is poor lacking decent instruments in lab. Good college for book worms (no offense) , but innovative projects and extra curricular activities should be encouraged more.

The college is smack dab in the middle of all the big IT company offices with TCS, Wipro, Infosys and other companies surrounding it. It allows for some good industry experience. The college has a group of highly dedicated faculty who take their job very seriously and have been known to deliver great lectures. The college has a large digitised library along with new hostels so students won't have any problems.

The campus life is strict. There are strict rules about dressing and behaviour, but the quality of education provided is certainly good and the college has had a very good record of placements for many years running. It has built up an imposing infrastructure in the past few years.

I would recommend not to join this college if you are not a localite. First of all, its campus is really small. Hostel food is really bad, maybe Orissa residents can manage somehow but outside state students cannot. The hostel doesn't even have wi-fi even after paying around 2 lakh per year including everything. In 1st year you will be told to wear formals whole day. And If you don't , 'toh seniors acche se tumhari Band Baja Denge'. Ragging will also be done and management also has that knowledge that it happens . And still, management doesn't have the guts to take action against it. Basically, life is hell if you are living in a hostel. Now coming to teachers, some teachers are good and some are really bad. Many of the teacher's English pronunciation is really bad and it would seem like they are trying to speak English forcefully, and they don't realize that students are not understanding so they should speak Hindi or mix with English and Hindi. And for the fees, many of you would be thinking that tuition fees are 77000 per year as written in ojee and various others websites. But the actual fees is 1.3 to 1.4 lakh per year. Many students came to this college thinking that fees are 77k but at the time of admission they were left with only this college so they have to pay this huge amount of money in this not so good college. And their college website is really bad. They don't even know what to add to their website and how to manage it. Placement is only around 3 lakh rupees. It is much better to go in north or west such as Delhi, Punjab, Noida, Pune, Bangalore with same fees and much better life and an environment.

Good learning bad exposure

Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar gave us the apt environment to learn from teachers as well as from peers. The faculties were intelligent as well as approachable.ers of My final year project guide has vast knowledge in subjects in core paper Computer science. Silicon did not have the proper infrastructure in terms of bad connectivity, small campus, limited area for sports and other activities. More no. of seminars and workshops should be conducted by a college to give a broader outlook to students. Students should be given chances to take up summer internships. Though the almost all the students were placed this college did not put effort for better placement. Despite all this, my life in Silicon was very enjoyable. Good faculty interaction, peers from diverse backgrounds made me the 4 years of my life very memorable. Our college was rated the best private college in Eastern India by ABC news. Our college has continuously excelled in academics with maximum number. of university toppers as well as a lot of CAT and GATE rank holders.

Number of branches: 5 CS IT EEE ECE AEI The placements are pretty good so as d faculty. Fees are affordable. Canteen food is kind of okay. The campus is small which makes it easy to go from one place to another inside the campus. Library facilities are good. Girls hostel is really very good . Excellent. Lift facility available. Placements are really good.seats are limited. Infosys Wipro Tech-Mahindra and many other companies come during placements. Campus life is not happening at all. Studios environment. If you're looking for good placements then it's the right place.

Average College for Average Students

Batch of 2016 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
This college has a very small campus. So in a way, it's good because students don't have to rush from one building to another for classes. It has two main buildings. One building consists the departments of ECE, EEE, AEI. The other building consists departments of CS, IT, and MCA. The labs are not equipped with enough instruments. The ratio between students and instruments is 5:1. The course has been updated recently so students are taught about the latest technologies being used. This college hosts a lot of talks by some eminent persons but the industrial visits are very less. The things that made my college life enjoyable is sports. This college has two good basketball courts. It has a small football/cricket ground. It also has Table Tennis boards. It also has a music club. The average package of my batch was about 3.2 lac per annum. The companies that participated in placement drive were : Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, MindTree, Tech Mahindra and a few more. The college has a good hostel. 3 students are allotted per room. It is equipped with water purifier/cooler on every floor. The washrooms are cleaned every day. The demerit of this hostel is that it doesn't have a WiFi facility. Not a day's WiFi is provided in every engineering college hostel but this one lacks this facility. The canteen is very good. It provides better food than many colleges. They charge about 2600 per month for the food. The quality of the food is good. There are few exceptional faculty. They have their own way of teaching. They are one the faculties who loves teaching. They enjoy teaching. They explain every detail very clearly. Students from different parts of the country come to study at this college. So, this helps them to interact among themselves and find out about each other's culture. This also helps one to know the mindsets of different types. My course fee was 96500 per annum and hostel was 32000 per annum. But now there has been a hike in the course fee. If you have a rank between 2 lac and 6 lac, this is one of the suitable colleges.

College atmosphere is good. Best atmosphere for study. A reputed college of Odisha. I will not recommend it highly but its ok. Bcoz of no placements in core sector and only in IT sector. But one thing that is the best part of it the massive recruitment by Infosys, Wipro, etc.

Odisha's Best

Here, classed are regularly held strictly according to the timetable. The teachers are very friendly in teaching. Extracurricular activities are more than any other college under BPUT. We get a competitive environment here. College doesn't have bus facility outside or to the outskirts of the city. The location is best suited for an IT environment due to the presence of Infosys, TCS and many more. Teachers are very well qualified. The college offers good placement, especially in IT sector.

The college is mostly known for its strict educational atmosphere and technology oriented teaching. The infrastructure is well developed for the all-round development of the student and to attract software giants. The academic curriculum is strictly according to BPUT, Odisha but it obeys it more than any other college affiliated to the university. The faculties are highly qualified from renowned colleges of the country including IITs, NITs and also from international universities. All of them are strongly driven towards technology and focusing on the students' performance. The hostel facilitates all the requirements of the present generation and what's special about the college is, its RULES. The management imposes strict rules on such a nature that every student follows it though not with so ease but with a big satisfaction of getting himself/herself well trained. The faculties say with pride that a student of our college can face and withstand all difficulties faced in the professional world and can emerge with bright wings. The college is a technological hub with mass recruitments from Infosys, Wipro, Capegemini, TechMahindra, Mindtree, Sankalpv Semiconductors and many more.

First of all, this is not a very big college. It mainly focuses on CS IT and related branches. The college while not very big like some of the other private colleges has all the facilities. The faculty is as you would expect in any engineering college is pure luck. You might get an amazing teacher for one subject and a not so amazing one in another. Placements are average, as in you get a job but isn't exactly world class. Hostel facilities are provided and are as expected from any engineering college.

Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar is one of the top private engineering colleges in eastern India and the best private engineering college in Odisha. It has good infrastructure, with up-to-date facilities in class rooms, auditoriums and the laboratories. The administration follows a strict academic schedule due to which the students perform consistently well every year. The faculty members are friendly and they always encourage clear understanding of the concepts and welcome doubt clearing by the students. Coming to the annual function called ZYGON, it is held with much enthusiasm and maximum participation is seen, making it a success every year.

Being one of the top private B.Tech colleges in Odisha, it is always expected to such a college to have basic things like free- wifi in hostel, big ground for football/cricket, etc., AC Classes, etc. However, the standard of academics is good overall and a decent no. of people from here qualify in GATE and CAT every year. Faculties are cooperative too.

The best private college under BPUT in terms of Academics, faculty and placements. pre-placement training as well as training for GATE is also provided. Doesn't score much when life at campus, i.e., Societies and associations are taken into account. A well disciplined college with strict administration. Located at a calm surrounding.
