Our classrooms are large and spacious, it actually gives you a nostalgic feeling studying in a vintage classroom. But it also have all the necessities like smart boards and wifi connections, large black board. It’s always kept clean and neat.
I’ve actually did Triple Major in English Major, Journalism and psychology. The teachers are highly qualified and very friendly. The subjects and the portions are covered properly before our internal examinations, and the teachers are very supportive. The curriculum is regularly updated and studying journalism is fun because we get to watch good documentaries, movies and shows as part of our syllabus. Psychology classes are a different experience all together, the practicals are enlightening.
Placements are good if you really want to get into placements and you can contact the placement cell of the college and they’ll guide you to get placed in good companies according to your interests. So if you’re interested you can connect with the respective staff of placement cell located at the admin block
For my first year back in 2019, my annual fees was just 25k and it was worth it. But times change and the management might’ve increased the educational fees so I’d say it’ll be upto 35k-40K per year? So yeah if you look at in the perspective of good education, it’s worth it and the college atmosphere is also fine.
The best thing I’ve had was the campus life, the friends I’ve got from Aloysius are still my close friends. The first year is really special, as we get to meet new students, being part of different clubs and associations. Also spending your free time in Mother Teresa Peace park is a vibe.. and going to campus cafe for an ice cream scoop. It’s so good. The location is near to city centre mall mangalore and is near to railway station also. It’s safe.
Not all colleges are perfect and similarly Aloysius has it’s drawbacks but I’d say once an Aloysian is always an Aloysian! So it sticks with you all way through your life!
Good reputation and decent infrastructure facilities. It's an autonomous college that offers a variety of courses and has been well-regarded for its educational standards and extracurricular activities
Of course, college life is also about having fun and creating memories. From late-night study sessions to attending parties and events, students often find a balance between their academic responsibilities and social activities
Historically had a decent reputation for providing placement opportunities to its students. However, the quality of placement offers can vary depending on factors such as the academic program, industry trends, and the efforts of the college's placement cell.
Yes ,Educational standards and diverse range of programs. However, the perception of "value for money" can vary from person to person based on factors such as the quality of education, faculty, facilities, extracurricular opportunities, and overall learning experience.
Like any college, it offers a combination of academics, extracurricular activities, social interactions, and personal growth opportunities. Students can expect to attend classes, engage in discussions, participate in clubs and events, make friends, and experience the overall atmosphere of college life.
Infrastructure of the college is well maintained. Library is quite peaceful and full of various books of renowned authors. College playground is really good. The canteen of college provide many popular dishes. There's a well maintained auditorium in college, where many programs are organised.
The curriculum is updated and it does include all the recent developments in the field. But in the present scenario of the digital world, not every stream can ensure a job Or high placements. But if anyone works hard in there field, then they can definitely secure a decent job in the core sector as well.
Quite a few placement cell visits the campus but are one of the best companies. There is a career counselling department in the college itself that helps you with data, personality development and speaking skills for the placements.
St Aloysius college is almost 140 years old now. Thus the infrastructure of arts block too is old Though it is old there are necessary equipments like the projector and screen. Classrooms are huge and spacious. The building gives a feeling of ancient times. There is library which has 1000s of books and there is reference section. There's also periodicals where there's newspapers, magazines and journals. There is department of physical education which aslo has gym Hostel facilities are available.
Quality of teaching is excellent. All the lectures are highly qualified in their field. The curriculum is updated and we learnt about content development , writing blog , film studies etc in Commutative English. We also learnt about recent editon DSM in Psychology. As this course is Triple Major master's degree has to be done in order to start working because specialisation is not done in one subject.
Arts course usually doesn't get placements in under graduation level. But in 2019 a company from Bangalore had come for placements for courses without mathematics and two students from final year BA were selected
My course started with 20,000 and it went on increasing every year. Final year it costed 22,000. Yes. I am definitely getting my money's worth because I've learnt a lot in my under graduation. And it has provided the basic foundation that is required for my master's degree.
Campus Life at Aloysius is the best that one can ever have. The crowd is crazy and the ambience is also good. Aloysius is also famous for 'katte' a hangout spot of students during the break. That's where students from different courses meet and also that's also the starting point of friendships and memories. Aloysius is in the heart of the city. There's mall, bank, hospital, resturant, Atm, bus stop nearby. There are students from different states. Teachers are supportive.
St Aloysius college also has a compulsary social service program called 'Sahaya' for all Under Graduation students. Students have to spend 40 hours in social service in any organisation like orphanage, old age home. This has taught me the biggest lesson of my life. Life at Aloysius also teaches how to adjust with people from different states.
