About SB College Changanassery
St Berchmans College, Changanassery was established by Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, Bishop of Changanassery diocese in the year 1922. The institute is also known as SB College. SB College is the first institute of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry to provide higher education. University Grants Commission identified the College under its College with Potential for Excellence scheme in the year 2004. In the year 2014, University Grants Commission and The Government of Kerala granted autonomy to the institute. St Berchmans College is recognised by University Grants Commission under section 2 (f) and section 12B of the UGC Act 1956. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. The institute maintained its position in NIRF ranking and has been ranked 79th in NIRF College Ranking 2021. In NIRF ranking 2020, It was ranked 79 in college category.
