The Eye Foundation offers 3 degrees at the diploma, post graduate and the doctoral levels. It primarily focuses on 2 branches- nursing and Ophthalmology. The 7 courses are- Diploma in nursing and advanced, Diplomate in National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology, Fellowship in Glaucoma, Fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Surgery, Fellowship in Cornea Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology, and Fellowship in Optometry. The candidates can choose any of these courses, provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the institute. The duration of the diploma is 3 years- (2+1) year of compulsory internship. The Diplomate in National Board (DNB) in Ophthalmology is also a 3 year course. The Fellowship in Glaucoma is a 1 year fellowship. Fellowship in Cornea Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology are of 1.5 years duration. The Fellowship in Vitreo Retinal Surgery and Fellowship in Optometry are 2 year courses. During the Fellowship students will be rotated in all sub specialities’ like Refraction, Contact lenses, Refractive surgery, Biometry, Glaucoma, Orthoptics, Retina diagnostics, Cornea, Low vision and Community Ophthalmology. The theory classes will be held parallelly covering all the relevant aspects. Clinical skills in using state of the art equipment in all subspecialties will be taught. Monthly stipend will be paid to the candidates under the fellowship programme.
