If you have completed your Diploma in CSE (computer Science and Engineering ) then you are eligible for B.tech Lateral Entry Admission in various B.Tech Colleges. Engineering Colleges take admission in Lateral courses on the basis of merit in entrance exam or on the basis of marks obtained in Diploma or equivalent course

Further, to get lateral entry admission to 2nd year B.Tech Course, you have to give an entrance exam known as Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET). The entrance test is a gateway for admissions to 2 ^nd year undergraduate engineering programmes (BTech) and 1 ^st year undergraduate architecture programmes (BArch) offered under the lateral entry scheme. The exam is conducted in the pen-paper or offline format.

Furthermore, For BTech lateral entry admissions, students must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in a 3-year diploma (Engineering – any stream) after the Class 10 board exam . Students who have pursued a 3-year diploma after class 12 board exams are also eligible for admission to the BTech course through lateral entry.
