Yes, necessary facilities are available except water supply in washrooms, no adequate drinking water, not well maintained equipment. Living space is clean and hygienic sometimes it gets messy on the rainy days.
I am studying Btech in Computer Science because it is demanded now a days everywhere and even i was interested in studying computer related work. In the first semester we studied math, engineering drawing and many other things which had no connection to computers, so the curriculum is not updated.
Quality of placements is average, some students are even placed in top firms such as Huwaei, Cognizant and few others. Average package was around Rs 4,00,000 per year. Placement placement was not pleasant at all as we had to go to other colleges for getting placed in many companies.
Our college is both public and government institute so the fees is same as many other private colleges, and i don't fell it to be worth at all in return of the services we get and various other facilities which could be provide are not there.
Campus life was great, best features were weather which was pleasant most of the time, worst could be monkies present there. It is a popular nuisance in Shimla, lots of monkies are present there. Location is also good and its safe as well.
Necessary facilities were available, as our batch was the first batch to start our session from the new building, otherwise there was an old building where no space to accommodate all the students was available. Our college was neat and well maintained, there could be more facilities and equipment which would increase the ratings of experience there.
Academics was very poor, in the beginning good teachers used to teach us which were the permanent faculty of the college but most of the guest faculty was not serious about their work, few were their who were good at what they did but not all of them.
A lot of students gets placed so the number of placed students is high almost everywhere, and the average would be around 4 lac per year. Highest salary offered in my knowledge is 8 lacs per year but it is possible for it to vary in the history of Uiit, now even its name is change to UIT.
Fees was high and did not felt it o be worth at all, one good thing was the friends which i got there but regarding education it is not a good place to be in our time of college.
I enjoyed a lot in the campus, students used to hang in ares of attic, computer labs and engage themselves in newspaper reading as there were lot of newspaper available while entering the library. Location was great also there were lot of monkies all around the place.
College infrastructure was average, facilities like smart classrooms were there but they were not used at all, and were used only by students at the time of technical fest. No own sports center was there, and a combined ground for the complete university was provided by HPU. But things were neat and clean and not very well maintained.
I was studying Btech. in Information Technology, and the quality of teaching was below average only few teacher were there who seriously used to teach something otherwise most o them were no serious at all. Also the curriculum is not updated and we used to study previous technologies.
The number of students who gets placed is high but the quality of firms they get themselves is not that high. Some students also gets placed in companies like Infosys, Wipro and many other. And the average package would be around 3.5 lacs per year.
As our institute was self financed and is also a government institute so, the fees was like any other private college, but the facilities were not. Now a days a lot more trades are added like mechanical, Civil and electronics.
Campus life was great and the best part of college life but campus was not huge though, attics was my favorite place to spend time with friends where many practices took place of fests and we enjoyed a lot. Staff was also very friendly.
Yes, almost all the necessary infrastructure, and facilities were available except few such as no adequate water supply, on the rainy days it gets a little messy. LIBRARY is also there, computer lab is also equipped.
Academics is not up to the mark as I expected it to be, teachers should be more serious regarding the studies, they are there just for the sake of their own attendance. I don't think curriculum is updated at all.
Quality of Placement is average as compared to many other similar colleges. Some students are even placed in top firms such as Infosys, Wipro, Tcs. Placement process was not so pleasant as we had to wait for the whole day and we even had to go to other college campuses.
Fees is way too high as compared to other college government colleges. As our institute is self financed the fees we pay used to pay teacher's Salary. I don't feel that we are getting our money's worth.
Campus Life could be the best part of the college life as the view is amazing from some parts of the college building, attic was the best part where all the practices took place of fest and many other activities. Teachers and staff were quite friendly and helpful.
Necessary equipment and facilities are available, we have started our course in the new building, earlier UIIT used to be in just one building which i have heard is not evem sufficient for the complete batch to accommodate. So,as per current condition we have got great facilities.
I am studying BTech in computer science, and quality of teaching could improve, there are teachers whose teachings goes above my head, and same is the case with my many friends. But still there are few teachers who teach with great interest and allows us to educate ourselve.
Placements have been average, many students have registered job in various different companies with an average package according to me of Rs 400000. Placement process was not very pleasant, we had to spend our whole day.
Fees is way too much high because in any other government institute fees is low but our college is also government with fees like private colleges. So overall money is not worth in return of the services we get.
Best features about the campus were its weather, pleasant surroundings, good friendly staff. Worst could be no canteen facility, no adequate water supply.
I don't think that our college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Library have got no useful book and its not a smooth process to issues a book from library, also there's things missing, no complete work is done in washrooms. No separate sports ground is there.
There are only one or two teachers who teach sincerely and rest of them are just to pass there time, and do not have relevant skills to indulge students in the teaching. Curriculum is not updated and we study all the previous technology.
Quality of placements is okay and about 65% of the students are placed in companies, but college always enhances its same record to impress the new admissions but its not the case. Average package is around Rs.4,00,000 per year.
Fees is way too much high as it is an government institute, and still we pay a fees as if we are in private institute. Also after paying this much fees in the name of Sports meet, annual say celebration we do not get facilities as per paid fees.
Campus life was great, friends are one of the best things which i miss the most. It is the only thing which is true there. Weather is amazing and also unpredictable. It may rain any time there and also monkeys are also a menace.
Yeah, almost all the infrastructure is there except few things which either don't work or don't exist like curtains in smart board classrooms also taps in washrooms don't have water in them, but is all fine and we all worked with the available facilities.
Academics is way worse than any institute, all things have to understood by our own, it seems that we have to study every thing in order to just pass the exam not to enhance our skills, and we make ourselves job ready, institute don't help a bit in that.
I don't know how students manage to get placed in top companies with an average package of around 3.5lacs per year. Placement process is easy and any student who is decent and confident could go through it easily.
Fees is almost same as any private institute and the services we get are not the same in return. They say that our institute is self financed so its fees is way too high than any other government institute.
Campus life was fun, i enjoyed a lot in those those days, those were the golden days. There was a canteen named PInk Petals where we used hang a lot, it have got decent food not 5 star rated but its worth.
The college had overall a good infrastructure, well maintained classrooms and laboratories but with the locks hanging on their doors. WiFi is not so good but the internet facility is best in the laboratories. Living spaces are cleaned and hygiene is maintained properly on regular basis.
Teachers are good but the bitter truth is there is no proper classes for students. Hardly the half of the syllabus was covered during over time. Students had to do own their own. College must have the proper time table and all. But this college don't.
The placement in this college is worst part. The campus placement is nearly NIL. Students had to go to other colleges for placements. Their is no internship in 7th semester. Only made recruitments are done.
The fees is unnecessarily so high and nearly equal to private colleges. Every year the fees are raised. Even there are no hostel facilities for the btech department. The fees in this college is really a worst part.
Campus life is the best part of this college. The neighboring areas are beautiful. It is surrounded with the best natural sceneries and tourist spots. Enjoy chai with aalo pranthas at the local vendors.
I would like to say one last thing. This college is not good for educational purposes. Go for other better colleges.
Now there's a new building but when I was in college there was this old building in which there was no space for all the classes to study at the same time, we had to schedule the time table accordingly so that one class at a time can accommodate. Building was not even maintained properly, but it was very long time ago and now the whole perspective of UIIT has changed as its name has also changed to UIT.
Nobody cared about academics and even teachers were there to just kill there time but some of them i remember. Even curriculum was not even updated and nobody bothered to study. Its not good to say bu it is the truth.
Placements was also not very fine but still students managed to get placed in various companies which was nit expected of them because of the background which UIIT have. Now all the things have changed so don't know much about now.
Fees was also very low and yeah it was still worth, because i learned a lot of things there personally. Don't remember the exact figures but it was around 30k per semester.
This was the best part about the college, HPU as a complete was a campus to us and we used to roam from one end of the shops to the other just in order to kill the tie. The weather was always nice better than many other places.
Yes, college have all the necessary infrastructure, and facilities like library, computer labs are also available. There is no hostel facility for our college, there are smart board in classrooms with no curtains on windows. Living space is clean.
I am studying B.tech in Information Technology because i was interested in it. Quality of teaching is just about fine and no extraordinary talent is there in our faculty. But they all are very helpful and allows us to solve our queries.
Many students are placed and every batch has almost same scenario as most students gets themselves placed. About 70-80% of students are placed in almost every batch I have heard of with an average package of around 4lacs per yar.
Don't remember the exact amount but it was around 1lac per year. Yeah it was worth paying that much money.
Best feature was the weather which was provided by the beautiful Shimla and the worst could be washrooms where there no water. Students engage in reading newspaper, surfing internet and stuff like that.
It was great.
