UIIT Shimla Scholarship
Students at UIT Shimla are offered four merit scholarships, one for each year of B.Tech (IT, CSE, ECE, CE and EE). The amount of the UIT Shimla merit scholarship is Rs. 500 per month. Eligible students (EWS belonging to general, SC, ST categories and religious minority candidates, meritorious girls, wards of armed forces etc.) can apply for the various central and state government-sponsored scholarships. The institute also offers tuition fee waiver schemes are provided by the institute to 06 candidates based on candidates’ family income in each Engineering branch as per AICTE norms. Apart from these UIT Shimla scholarships, students are offered prizes each year for standing first, second and third in the semester examinations on the basis of aggregate marks scored in the semester examination. The first, second and third prizes will be given in the form of books costing Rs.1,000, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 respectively.

Yes, necessary facilities are available except water supply in washrooms, no adequate drinking water, not well maintained equipment. Living space is clean and hygienic sometimes it gets messy on the rainy days.

Necessary facilities were available, as our batch was the first batch to start our session from the new building, otherwise there was an old building where no space to accommodate all the students was available. Our college was neat and well maintained, there could be more facilities and equipment which would increase the ratings of experience there.

College infrastructure was average, facilities like smart classrooms were there but they were not used at all, and were used only by students at the time of technical fest. No own sports center was there, and a combined ground for the complete university was provided by HPU. But things were neat and clean and not very well maintained.

10+2 or it's equivalent from a recognized Board · Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject, 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

In terms of placement both the university/colleges have almost same placement future but as the popularity of Chandigarh University is known so chances are high in it. But if we see with the fee prospectus so the Chandigarh University takes much higher fees than UIIT Shimla.
Therefore UIIT is somehow better than Cgc
