Every year reputed companies like HCL, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture etc. participate in Velammal Engineering College placement drive and hire students. To provide maximum exposure and placement opportunities to students, the college has a training and placement department. It trains students and prepares them for the VEC Chennai placement drive. B. E Automobile Engineering course in Velammal Engineering College, Chennai is offered by Anna University, Chennai. There are 30 seats for this course in this College.
Course fees is Rs. 75,000 per month. 65 percentage of seats are Government quota seats and 35 quota seats are Management quota seats.

The cut off for the computer science branch is around 18k -22k and it does not varies much same in the case of information technology.
The automobile engineering branch has compartively much lower cut off and that is around 80k - 1L. The electrical branch has cut off around 50k.
