    Here is the list of some top exams through which candidates can get admission in the Post Graduate Programme in Management course. Candidates having valid scores on any of these exams will be considered for admission in P.G.P. in Management course.

    CAT- Common Admission Test or CAT is a national level entrance exam for admission to graduate management programmes. CAT is a computer-based exam of three hours conducted annually by IIMs. Candidates must have a graduate degree with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for the reserved category) to be eligible to apply for the exam.

    MAT- Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is conducted for admission to Master of Business Administration and allied programmes by more than 600 business schools across the country. MAT is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). Candidates should have a graduate degree to be eligible for the exam. Candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation degree are also eligible to apply. MAT is conducted in both online and offline modes.

    XAT- Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT is a national-level management entrance test for admission to MBA/PGDM courses. It is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur. Candidates with a graduate degree are eligible to apply for the exam.

    CMAT- Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to management programmes. CMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

    GMAT: Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is an university level entrance examination, it computer based examination and conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council. For admission to the PGPM degree programme, the cut off of various entrance examinations is accepted. The PGPM cut off depends on various factors, such as the number of students appearing for the entrance examination, and the difficulty level of the question paper.

    Students need to appear for the CAT and 50 per cent weightage of the CAT score, 25 per cent weightage of the Personal Interview, 3 per cent weightage of Verbal Comprehension, 5 per cent weightage of work experience is considered for the admission to PGPM course. Other weightage is considered from the Academic Performance in 10th Standard, which is 2 per cent, 3 per cent weightage of Academic Performance in 12th Standard and 5 per cent weightage to the Performance at Undergraduate level, 2 per cent weightage to Professional Qualification (CA/ ICWA/CS) and 5 per cent weightage for female candidates.

    IIM Bangalore has two postgraduate courses in management, PGP and PGPBA. PGPBA is a full-time, two-year course in management. The admission is through a valid score in the CAT examination.

    IIM Banglore offers a total of 412 seats whereas the total fees for the course are INR 21,00,000.

    Eligiblity criteria is the student is required to complete their graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

    Final year graduation students can also apply for the program on the condition that they are required to submit their final aggregate score CGPA by June.

    As I understand your question

    The only difference between MBA and PGP is that MBA is masters degree and therefore a student having MBA can apply for admission to Ph.D. in any university in India and can appear for NET of UGC. As against this PGP is Diploma and some of the institutions have obtained its equivalence to MBA whereas other institutions have not done this and therefore the students of such institutions are not eligible for Ph.D. and NET.
