About Karnataka PGCET 2019
Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to select candidates for MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, MArch as well as lateral entry MCA courses offered by various government/university/private aided and private un-aided institutions of Karnataka. The online application form of Karnataka PGCET 2019 will be released in May. The entrance test will be held offline in July 2019. Karnataka PGCET will be held for 150 minutes in multiple sessions separately for different courses. The test carries total of 100 marks. The answer key is released by the examination authority, KEA, within three days of completion of the entrance test. Karnataka PGCET result is declared in the last week of August. Based on the performance of candidates in Karnataka PGCET 2019, the rank list is prepared for admission to different courses. Candidates are called for counselling as per their ranks in the merit list.
GATE qualified candidates are exempt from appearing for Karnataka PGCET. They can directly apply for M.Tech admissions offered by the participating institutes on the basis of their GATE scores.

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have completed B.Tech course from an institute recognized by the state of Karnataka with a minimum aggregate of 50% in the qualifying exam. However, reserved category candidates are given relaxation of 5%
- Candidates with valid GATE score

Karnataka PGCET 2019 application form will be released in the online mode. Candidates have to fill all requisite details and then submit the application form to register successfully for the exam. Candidates with valid GATE score will also have to submit the filled application form. Given below are the steps to fill Karnataka PGCET application form 2019:
Registration – Candidates have to register by providing details including name of candidate, parent’s name, gender, date of birth, email ID and mobile number. After registration, candidates will need to create user ID and password completing which a unique registration number will be generated after registration process is completed
Filling the application form – Candidates must provide all personal and academic details required while filling the Karnataka PGCET 2019 application form. Candidates having valid GATE score will need to provide details of GATE exam.
Upload documents – Scanned copies of candidates’ photograph, signature and left thumb impression have to be uploaded. The scanned images must be at par with the specifications mandated by KEA.
Declaration and submission of application form – After cross verifying all information submitted by candidates, they must agree to the declared terms and submit the application form of Karnataka PGCET 2019.
Payment of fee – After submission of the signed declaration, candidates will need to pay the application fee. Candidates can pay the fee either online using net banking/credit card/debit card or offline through cash payment at any branch of State Bank of Mysore.
Print out of filled application form – Candidates must print at least two copies of the filled application form out.

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Admit Card
The admit card of Karnataka PGCET 2019 will be issued online by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Candidates will be able to download the admit card by entering application number and date of birth. Karnataka PGCET 2019 admit card will contain personal information of the candidates including candidate’s name, roll number, father’s name, venue, date and time of examination, photograph and signature of candidate. Candidates must check the admit card for discrepancy before downloading the admit card. Candidates failing to produce the admit card at the exam hall on the day of exam will not be allowed to enter the exam venue.

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Answer Key
Karnataka PGCET answer key 2019 will be released by KEA within three days after the completion of the exam. The answer key will contain correct answers to all questions asked in the entrance exam. With the help of the answer key, candidates will be able to cross verify answers provided by them in the exam and thus, calculate their probable scores. The Karnataka PGCET 2019 answer key will be released in two stages – provisional answer key and final answer key. Candidates can file objection against the provisional answer key by submitting email at [email protected]. The conducting authority will scrutinise all objection raised by candidates after which a final answer key will be released.
The result of Karnataka PGCET 2019 will be announced online by Karnataka Examination Authority in the form of PDF file. Merit list and rank list will also be released by the conducting body along with the Karnataka PGCET 2019 result. However, separate merit list will be prepared for candidates with valid GATE scores. Merit of candidates will be determined on the basis of scores obtained in Karnataka PGCET and/ or GATE.

Karnataka PGCET 2019 Cutoff
The cutoff of Karnataka PGCET 2019 is the minimum required scores that candidates must secure to be eligible for admissions in the participating institutes. The conducting body will announce the cutoff after each round of seat allotment in the form of ranks. The Karnataka PGCET 2018 cutoff ranks will differ on the basis of category and preferred institute. Factors such as difficulty level, number of candidates appearing, availability of seats, performance of applicants will determine the cutoff. A separate cutoff list will be prepared for candidates who have applied for Karnataka PGCET 2019 on the basis of GATE scores. The cutoff list will comprise name of college, course, category and last rank of the particular college and course.
Karnataka PGCET 2019 Counselling
Mode of Counselling: Online, Offline
Karnataka PGCET 2019 counselling is conducted online in August. Candidates will be called for counselling based on their ranks. The process of Karnataka PGCET counselling 2019 is explained below.
Registration
Candidates to appear for counselling have to first register themselves. Registration has to be done at the helpline centres. KEA will release the list of helpline centres.
Document verification
At the help centres, candidates will have to submit their original documents for verification. Candidates are called for document verification as per their ranks.
Allotment of secret key
Once candidates documents are verified, a verification slip and secret key are provided. To enter their preferences of choices, candidates have to login with the secret key.
Registration for choice filling
Candidates will have to login with their application number and secret key.
Candidates have to generate a password
They are also required to answer a secret question
After submitting these particulars, candidate’s login ID and password will be generated.

They can select as many choice possible in order of preferences
Candidates will have to write priority number against the course of institute
Take printout of the filled choices for further reference
Choice filling starts after display of seat matrix

Mock Allotment
After completion of option entry, based on the preferences of colleges and merit, the examination authority publishes the mock allotment result.
Mock allotment is shown the indicative seat status. Candidates might not get this seat in real.
Mock allotment is published so that candidates have the option to revise, update, add or delete the entered options.
Seat Allotment
The Karnataka PGCET 2019 seat allotment result will be announced online. Candidates will have to login with the required credentials. Seats will be allotted to candidates based on their rank in Karnataka PGCET and preferences exercised by them during choice filling. The allotment of seats will be conducted in three rounds and each round has three phases.
Reporting to the allotted institutes
Allotted candidates have to reported to the allotted institute to complete the admission process.
Candidates are required to pay the admission fees to book their seat.
