Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has closed the KCET 2020 application form on March 16. KCET 2020 also known as Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) will be conducted on April 22 and 23 for admission in Engineering, B. Pharm and Farm Science courses in Government/ University/ Private Aided/Private un-aided institutions in Karnataka State. Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the qualifying examination i.e. 2nd PUC/12th standard are eligible to appear for KCET 2020. The exam will be held on two days in four different sessions for four subjects – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The questions of KCET 2020 will be based on I and II PUC syllabus prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education State. The authorities will prepare a category-wise merit list on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the KCET 2020 and qualifying examination.

The application form of KCET 2020 was available for candidates till March 16. Before filling the KCET 2020 application form, candidates were asked to check the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the authority. The application form of KCET 2020 was available only in online mode. Candidates were advised to keep all the required details such as valid email ID, phone number personal, contact and educational details etc ready before filling the Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2020 application form. Steps to fill the application form is given below for reference:
Step 1: Registration – Candidates had to click “ New User? Click Here to Register” to start the online application process.All the required details had to be entered before clicking on submit button. An application number and User ID was displayed on the screen and also sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number and email ID.
Step 2: Enter login and personal details – Candidates had to enter login credentials (User ID and password) on the login page. After login, a student information page was displayed where candidates had to enter the details such as nationality, caste, category, academic, contact, previous KCET examination (if any), school details etc.
Step 3: Uploading of candidate's photograph, Left Hand Thumb Impression (LHT) and signature along with parents’ signature – Uploading of required images as per prescribed dimensions and size was necessary.

Step 5: Printout of KCET 2020 application form – After payment of fees, candidates had to take a printout of the filled in KCET application form in A4 size paper and affix the following documents:
i) Candidate’s recent photograph
ii) Left-hand thumb impression
Candidates also had to take principal/gazetted officer’s signature and seal of their respective college board or equivalent and the original application form should be produced at the time of document verification during KCET counselling.

KEA will issue the KCET 2020 admit card in online mode for appearing in the entrance test. To appear in the Common Entrance Test candidates will have to download the admit of KCET 2020 within prescribed dates. To download the admit card of KCET 2020, candidates will have to enter application number and date of birth as per SSLC/Class 10th mark sheet in the login window. Details like name, photograph and signature of the candidate, roll and application number, name and address of exam centre, date and time of the test will be present in the admit card. It will be mandatory to carry an identity proof, ball pen along with the admit card. Candidates will have to preserve the KCET 2020 admit card till the admission process is completed in the allotted college or institute.
How to download KCET Admit Card 2020?
Note- Candidates must check all the details mentioned in their KCET admit card carefully and contact the authorities in case of any discrepancy.
The answer key of KCET 2020 will be released by KEA. The authorities will first release a provisional answer key of KCET 2020. Candidates will be able to challenge the provisional answer key along with the supporting documents for justification and send it to the specified address in person or through speed post/email ID on the allotted dates. The final answer key will be available after the objections are checked. The experts of KEA will decide the right answer key. No objections can be made to the final answer key of KCET.
How to raise objections to provisional KCET answer key?
The result for KCET B.Tech, B-Farm and Agriculture will be declared by KEA in online mode. Candidates will have to enter their registration number to check their results. To know the spot ranks, candidates will have to enter their Common Entrance Test (CET) number. The result of KCET 2020 will carry information like subject wise scores, total marks secured by candidates and ranks obtained.
Steps to check KCET Result 2020
KEA will release the KCET cutoff 2020 for different programmes and categories after the declaration of the result. KCET cutoff is the announced in the form of closing rank at a particular institute or college as per the preference of the courses and category of the candidates. The cutoff will be determined on the basis of various factors such as total number of candidates appeared in the exam, difficulty level of the exam, performance of candidates in the entrance test, availability of seats in KCET participating institutes or colleges.
Mode of Counselling:
KEA will conduct KCET 2020 counselling tentatively from the first week of June. KCET counselling will be conducted in two rounds along with an extended second round and spot round. It must be noted that only the candidates shortlisted on the basis of KCET result will be called to participate in the counselling process. Candidates will have to register online in order to participate in the counselling of KCET 2020. Following steps will be involved in KCET counselling 2020.
Step 1 - Document Verification and Registration- Candidates will have to get their documents verified at the specified centres. Candidates will be given unique Id and password after successful verification.
Step 2 - Choice Filling and Locking- Next, candidates will have to login to the system using the User Id and password. After login, candidates will have to fill their choices of institutes and courses. Candidates will be allowed add, modify, delete choices. Candidates must lock their choices before the last date otherwise the system will automatically lock the choices. No changes can be made to the choices after locking.
Step 3 - Allotment of Seats- After this, the authorities will first release the mock seat allotment result of KCET 2020. Since the mock allotment is conducted to let the candidates know their chances of admissions based on their merit and preferred seats. The candidates will be able to change their choices after the mock allotment result is announced. Candidates will be able to check their allotment status in online mode by logging in using their CET number.
Step 4 - Reporting at Allotted Institutes- The candidates who will be allotted seats will have to report the allotted institute to confirm their seat and payment of admission fees.
