Mathematics and Computing include the analysis and the in-depth study and understanding of abstract concepts, like numbers and patterns. It is designed to provide students with a theoretical background and practice training in computer science and mathematical finance of study. Mathematics is the study and application of languages for describing various universal modelling and beyond, whereas computing brings in solutions for the problems of mathematical approach efficiently. Mathematics and computing, therefore, go hand in hand and are connected in understanding both subjects related.
Mathematics and computing are interrelated in many aspects of the study, such as mathematics in computer science, mathematics and computer engineering or mathematics and computing in technology studies. Mathematics is applied in every aspect of computing study in all fields with the application of algebra, statistics, Binary math, calculus and much more. Several universities provide the study of mathematics and computing with the rise in demand for the subject and the opportunities one receives in studying the subject.
The candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate study of mathematics and computing should meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below for admissions.
Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduates
The eligibility criteria for undergraduates to study Mathematics and Computing , also known as B.Tech., requires the following eligibility criteria.
Minimum qualification of 10+2 pass in science stream or equivalent subject in any other relevant board of study within India.
Candidates are expected to have a minimum aggregate of 50% in class 12.
Relaxation of 5 per cent (45 per cent) marks in class 12 are made for SC/ST category of candidates.
Subjects of physics, chemistry, math and a subject of student's choice is necessary to qualify for the entrance examinations, especially for prestigious institutions like IITs in India.
Eligibility criteria for Post-Graduates
Eligibility Criteria for the postgraduate study of mathematics and computing,, also known as M.Tech, requires the candidate to have the following eligibility criteria.
Bachelor's degree in mathematics and computing engineering.
The aggregate marks scored should be of 50 per cent minimum. It depends on the university applied to.
Relaxation of 5 per cent is given to SC and ST candidates.
The candidates applying at IITs should qualify for the GATE entrance exam.
However, the eligibility criteria differ, and it depends on the university or college admission requirements too.
Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main)- JEE Main is a national level entrance exam which is held twice a year by the National Test Agency in January and April of every year. The number of attempts allowed is six attempts in three years. JEE Main scores are used for admissions in Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and National Institute of Technology (NITs).
Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Advanced)- JEE Advanced can only be applied by applicants who passed the JEE Main exam previously. It is the second phase of the exam. It is known to be the most competitive undergraduate entrance exam for the admission of IITs in India. One needs to score 75 per cent and above to be eligible for this exam. A candidate has only two attempts during two years.
Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE)- It is a university level entrance exam conducted by campuses in Chennai and Vellore. VITEEE is considered to be the best university for B.Tech in mathematics and computing engineering in all private institutes.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)- GATE is a national level entrance exam for admissions in private and government institutions. It is jointly held by Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Kanpur and Roorkee along with Bangalore. It is a computer-based, i.e. online test.

Hi
It is very difficult to predict the marks/percentile/rank required in JEE mains to get a seat in DTU as cut off keeps changing every year due upon several factors like
number of students that appeared in the jee main exam,
kind of marks obtained by them ,
toughness level of the jee main examination ,
number of seats available for the branch you want etc.
When we go through previous year trend then ,
In round 9 of jac counselling 2020, for obc category to get Mathematics and Computing, 99556 crl rank was closing rank for delhi region student in DTU.
You can check the same at
https://cache.careers360.mobi/media/uploads/froala_editor/files/1608643929phpfepjgf.pdf
So, to be on the safer side you should try to get around 90,000 rank which is roughly around 92 percentile i. e around at least 95 marks as per our rank predictor at
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
Also,
To be eligible for DTU one must pass his or her class 12th board examination with physics chemistry mathematics and English and must have got at least 60% in aggregate of physics chemistry and mathematics .
Seats are offered through JAC Delhi counselling conducted on the basis of jee main.
In which 85% seats are reserved for Delhi region students.
While the rest 15% seats are available for outside Delhi students
