Various national, government institutes and central universities across India admit students to the AYUSH courses which offer specialisation in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. Like any other college in India, there is reservation for disabled candidates or backward class candidates in these institutes as well.
The National Testing Agency conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET exam) to offer admission to various medical streams including AYUSH courses. Students need to secure the minimum cut off and qualify for the counselling round to get admitted into the AYUSH colleges. So, admission to these institutes are granted under the All India Quota and many seats are reserved according to the caste category of the students.
Careers360 has gathered data on seat allotment for AYUSH courses from these national institutes. The data collected is an amalgamation of All India Quota (AIQ) seats, additionally, it provides accurate details regarding reservations for seats.
A total of 131 government and government aided institutes offered various AYUSH courses such as BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS. Out of these institutes, 77 institutes are for Ayurveda, 40 for Homoeopathy, 12 for Unani and two for Siddha courses. For the academic year 2020-21, these institutes offered a total of 1,470 seats (and 43 more seats), under AIQ, which is a minimum 15 per cent of the total seats. Out of them, around 870 seats were for BAMS, 491 for BHMS, 128 seats for BUMS and 24 seats were offered for BSMS course.
The table below includes the total seat information, however, we have excluded eight BAMS linguistic minority seats, nine BAMS Jain minority seats and 26 Muslim minority seats that are offered in the institutes.

A total of four Ayurveda, two Homoeopathy and one Unani central universities or national institutes offered admission to the various undergraduate AYUSH courses. A total of 379 seats were allotted the admission, out of them 62.7 per cent were allotted to BAMS, 30.8 per cent for BHMS and 6.3 per cent for BUMS till the second round of counselling. Out of the total BUMS seats 23 seats were offered to the unreserved category and one seat was allotted to the person with disability (PwD) candidates.

339 MD and MS seats were offered in a total of 61 AYUSH government institutes. Out of the total institute, 61.29 per cent of institutes were Ayurveda, 26 per cent Homoeopathy, 8.1 per cent of Unani and 3.2 per cent were Siddha colleges.
All the below mentioned number of seats were offered till the second round of counselling.

All the below mentioned number of seats were offered till the second round of counselling for 2020-21 academic year. The seats were allotted separately for other backward communities, economically weaker sections, scheduled caste and tribes and PwD candidates separately from each reserved category. Even a single seat was not allotted to EWS and ST PwD candidates in 2020.
