Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad’s Mathematical and Computing Engineering branch had a hundred percent placement for the academic year 2020-21. Along with the best average salary, BTech graduates of this branch also had the highest maximum salary of all branches of engineering. Even the lowest salary offer was higher than the maximum salaries of several other branches.
IIT Hyderabad is among the new generation IITs that started in 2008. It has been ranked eighth among engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) consecutively for the last three years. It was among the top 10 even before that. Given below is Careers360’s analysis of how it did on placements based on data obtained through a Right to Information application.
On an average, 69.03 percent of enrolled students who registered for placement landed a job in the year 2020-21.
In numbers, a total of 268 students registered for campus placement and 185 were successfully placed. Out of 288 enrolled students, 20 students opted out of placement for the academic year 2020-21.

IIT Placement: Maximum Salary, Domestic, International
The maximum average salary received by BTech students of a branch of engineering at IIT Hyderabad in 2020-21 was Rs 37.12 and 45.03 lakh per annum for domestic and international offers, respectively.
Chemical Engineering students had the highest domestic as well as international salary packages. But for international offers, four other branches did just as well as Chemical Engineering.

The overall average salary received in 2020-21 was Rs 19.98 lakh per annum. As the table below shows, more than half of the branches successfully crossed the overall average salary.

All branches taken together, the minimum salary offered at IIT Hyderabad was Rs. 7.66 lakh per annum. The Mathematical and Computing Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering branches had the best placement rate, maximum, minimum as well as average salary packages of the IIT Hyderabad’s 2021 BTech graduates.
