Students from all branches of engineering do not get equally good jobs even in premier institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. While IIT Madras has placed over 70% of its BTech graduates every year, both placement percentage and salaries vary very widely across branches. Computer Science Engineering typically posts far better placement records and fetches more lucrative jobs than several others, raising the average for the institution as a whole. Careers360 looks at how different branches of engineering fared in the 2020-21 placement season at IIT Madras.
