More than 3,800 students were pursuing the PhD programme in the top five state universities in 2020-21. Of them, about 492 candidates were conferred the highest academic degree. Careers360 has undertaken research about the number of PhD candidates pursuing and completing the PhD programme at the top five state universities across the country.
Qualifications like engineering with an add on of an MBA degree are considered to be the pathway to a successful career. Most MBA aspirants who secure a seat at India’s coveted IIMs choose lucrative sectors like consulting, IT, manufacturing and Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) when it comes to preferences in job placements. In this particular study, Careers360 looks at job offers in the IT sector across IIMs.
More than 500 candidates pursue the PhD programme from the top five National Institute of Technology in India. About 14 to 24 per cent of these candidates are awarded their PhD each year. Careers360 analyses the report of how many students are pursuing the PhD in the last three years till 2020-21, and out of them how many candidates complete the programme in both full-time and part-time.
Careers360 recently collected data from IIMs to understand the hiring trend at these premier institutions. Since sectors like consulting, IT, manufacturing and Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) are the most lucrative, offers in these sectors were studied. For ease of understanding, in this article which is the first in a series of sector-wise hiring trends at IIMs, our focus has been placement offers in consultancy.
Around 20,911 students of class 10 and 12,704 students of class 12 had registered with the Army Public Schools across India in the year 2020-21. Out of them 100 percent students successfully passed the class 10 board exam and 99.85 percent cleared class 12 boards. This consistency is seen in results in the previous years as well.
Various schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),. The results of some of these schools increased very sharply as Covid-19 pandemic struck. Careers360 compares, the percentage of students graduating from Class 10 and 12 boards from schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, APS, Government Schools and other private schools
Each year, over 2,000 candidates begin the arduous process of acquiring the most coveted doctoral degree at the premier IITs. Careers360 in this analytical report tracks the number of PhD candidates which seem to have increased over the last three years.
At the new IIMs, the female candidates are less than one-third of the total students. The female participation in the third generation IIMs ranges from 19 per cent to around 42 per cent. In terms of median salary, some of these new IIMs however, have shown an increase of 29 per cent than the previous year. A detailed report.
India has a total of 650 medical institutes which together have 99,163 medical seats. While Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana are top five states with maximum number of medical colleges, around eight states have only one medical college each. Nagaland, Ladakh and Lakshdeep do not have a single medical institute in their region.
