    In a society where the rising costs of education is forcing thousands of meritorious students to enter into the job market by giving up their higher education dreams, scholarships are re-writing the history of bright minds by making education accessible and affordable to the larger and weaker sections of the society. Many NGOs, government agencies and private agencies in collaboration with multiple corporations are offering scholarships with the aim to uplift the educational lives of the students. Here’s a list of 9 scholarships with their due dates ending in the month of August, 2022.

    HDFC Bank Parivartan’s ECS Scholarship 2022-23

    HDFC bank, one of the top India’s bank and financial services providers, is offering scholarships for students from class Class 1 to those pursuing Undergraduate Postgraduate programs. The aim of this scholarship is to support and provide monetary assistance to students belonging to underprivileged sections of the society who are meritorious but unable to bear the cost of education due to their poor financial condition.

    Eligibility For School Students:

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must be currently studying in any class from Class 1 to Class 12 in a private, government or government-aided school

    • Must have passed with at least 55 percent marks in the previous qualifying examination

    • The annual family income must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh

    • Preference will be given to those students who are unable to continue their education or are at risk of dropping out due to any kind of personal or family crisis that has occurred during the last three years

    What It Covers:

    • For Class 1 to Class 6 - Rs 15,000

    • For Class 7 to Class 12 - Rs 18,000

    Eligibility For Undergraduate Students:

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must be pursuing graduation courses (general courses like BCom, BSc, BA, BCA, etc., and professional courses like BTech, MBBS, LLB, B Arch, Nursing etc.) from a recognised college or university in India

    • Students pursuing Diploma courses after Class 10 or Class 12 are also eligible to apply

    • Must have passed with at least 55 percent marks in the previous qualifying examination

    • The annual family income must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh

    • Preference will be given to those students who are unable to continue their education or are at risk of dropping out due to any kind of personal or family crisis that has occurred during the last three years

    What It Covers:

    • For diploma courses - Rs 20,000

    • For general undergraduate courses - Rs 30,000

    • For professional undergraduate courses - Rs 50,000

    Eligibility For Postgraduate Students:

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must be pursuing postgraduation courses (general courses like MCom, MA, etc., and professional courses like MTech, MBA, etc.,) from a recognised college or university in India

    • Must have passed with at least 55per cent marks in the previous qualifying examination

    • The annual family income must not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh

    • Preference will be given to those students who are unable to continue their education or are at risk of dropping out due to any kind of personal or family crisis that has occurred during the last three years

    What It Covers:

    • For general postgraduate courses - Rs 35,000

    • For professional postgraduate courses - Rs 75,000

    Scholarship For Economically Weaker Section Students

    Sarojini Damodaran Foundation is offering Vidhyadhan scholarship to meritorious students hailing from economically weaker sections of the society.

    Name Of The Scheme: Vidhyadhan Scholarship

    Eligibility:

    • The family income should not exceed Rs 2 lakh per year

    • Must have completed Class 10 in the year 2022 from Andhra Pradesh and have scored at least 90 per cent marks

    • Disabled students will have 75 per cent of cut off

    What It Covers: The shortlisted students will receive Rs 10,000 per year.

    Nursing Scholarship For Students

    This scholarship is being offered by Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation for the students who are pursuing BSc Nursing or General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) in government recognised institutes. For this year, the foundation will support 27 students.

    Name Of The Scholarship: Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation Scholarships

    Eligibility:

    • Must be pursuing BSc Nursing or GNM course in an institution recognised by Indian Nursing Council

    • The applicant or at least one parent of the applicant must have had leprosy and must located in a self settled leprosy colony

    • Only one person from a family is eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme

    • The applicant must be at least 17 years of age at the time of application

    • The applicants should not be receiving financial assistance from any other sources

    What It Covers: An amount covering admission fee, tuition fees, mess fee, hostel fee and other boarding expenses will be directly paid to the institution on behalf of the shortlisted applicant.

    MEDHAVI National Scholarship Scheme

    The Human Resource Development Mission is inviting applications for the SAMDHAN scholarship examination. The aim of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the students or job seekers who are preparing for government jobs to pay their registration fees or application fees.

    Name Of The Scholarship: SAMDHAN Scholarship Examination

    Eligibility:

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must have passed Class 10 from a board recognised by central government or state government

    • Must be pursuing any of the following classes or courses viz. Class 10, Class 12, graduation, postgraduation, any degree or diploma

    What It Covers: According to the merit list obtained through the examination, the top three students who scored 80 percent will receive the scholarship amount as per the below format:

    1st rank holder- Rs 20,000

    2nd rank holder - Rs 10,000

    3rd rank holder - Rs 5,000

    Students who scored below 80 per cent marks in the examination will receive the scholarship amount in the following format:

    1st rank holder- Rs 1,000

    2nd rank holder - Rs 500

    3rd rank holder - Rs 300

    The Tata Capital PANKH Scholarship Program

    This scholarship program is an initiative of Tata Capital Limited to support the students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society. Those students studying in Classes 6 to 12 or undergraduate (general and professional) degree programmes will get financial assistance to complete their higher education.

    Eligibility For School Students:

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must be studying in any class from Classes 6 to Class 12 in a recognised educational institution in India

    • Must have passed the preceding class with at least 60 per cent marks

    • The annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs 4,00,000

    • Children of employees of Tata Capital are not eligible to avail this scholarships

    What It Covers: Up to 80 per cent of tuition fees paid by student or up to Rs 12,000 (whichever is less)

    Eligibility For Undergraduate Students (Professional Courses):

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must be enrolled in a professional undergraduate degree programme like Medical, Law, Engineering etc., in a recognised institute in India

    • Must have passed the preceding class with at least 60 percent marks

    • The annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs 4,00,000

    • Children of employees of Tata Capital are not eligible to avail this scholarships

    What It Covers: Up to 80 per cent of tuition fees paid by student or up to Rs 50,000 (whichever is less)

    Eligibility For Undergraduate Students (General Courses):

    • Must be an Indian citizen

    • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme like BCom, BSc, BBA, BA, diploma, polytechnic, etc., in a recognised institution in India

    • Must have passed the preceding class with at least 60 per cent marks

    • The annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs 4,00,000

    • Children of employees of Tata Capital are not eligible to avail this scholarships

    What It Covers: Up to 80 per cent of tuition fees paid by student or up to Rs 20,000 (whichever is less)
