    Synopsis

Rida Shareef shares her three-year NEET preparation journey for students who wish to extract NEET preparation tips and modify them according to their comfort to achieve the best result that they are capable of.

I belong to Arur, in Kozhikode and went to Rays Public School in Calicut and attended repeater coaching at Brilliant Pala. I am here to tell you how I scored 656/720 in the NEET 2022 with an AIR of 3241.

I cherished a dream to become a doctor from my school years. I keep it in my mind as a passion. This passion is being nourished by my parents with their proper advice and guidance. They inspired me and motivated me throughout my educational journey. They encouraged me and the passion instilled in my mind and I set a goal in front of me to become a doctor. It gave me relief during my tedious study hours. Hectic lessons became easy when I was reminded of my goal.

My journey started in Class 11 with one of the premier NEET coaching centres of Calicut.

Before that I had my primary and secondary education in government schools in Kerala. Even though it is a government school, I got English medium classes there. It enabled me to use English effectively and later helped me to grasp content matter in the NCERT books very fast.

After SSLC I joined Plus-one a renowned entrance coaching institute for a long term course which gave me plus one study in CBSE stream and entrance coaching together. Hence I could practise NEET model questions from plus one level itself. Merit of this method is that it gave me chances to compete for the NEET exam from the start itself. After completion of each lesson, the coaching centre conducted NEET model tests. We also had tests twice in a month of 720 marks.

Speaking about my approach, I was very clear about my goals from the start. Right from the first day I took studies very seriously. I used to attend lectures seriously, stay back after the class and study or ask doubts. Sometimes I would slack off and go with my friends during this period but I made sure these instances were limited. Hence I utilised all the available time for practice. I didn't use my mobile phone at this time.

Even though I worked hard I couldn't get a high rank in my first attempt, which was in 2021 with my plus two examination. Then I again joined for repeater training in another institution in the following year. From there I got harder training which enabled me to crack NEET this year.

During weekends I made extra effort to utilise all the time I had in studying. I made notes during the lectures, revised them regularly, solved MCQs in the booklets given to us, sometimes even issued reference books from the library and solved questions from them and tried my best to be ready with the syllabus of every test that took place.

My advice to the NEET aspirants is that first you set a goal in your life and work hard to achieve that goal. Try to understand your strength and weakness and try to compensate for your weakness and make use of your strength maximum. This is one of the important tips to crack neet . For example some are weak in numerical and strong in memorising. Those must try to get full marks in biology and try to compensate for the weakness in numerical by practising more problems in Physics.

Try to practise more than 13 hours a day. Do not waste time in leisure during the practice years. At last my final saying to you is 'practice makes a person perfect'.
