In 2022, the Ministry of Education’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked 101 colleges under the Pharmacy category. Colleges ranked in the NIRF offered a four-year undergraduate (UG) programme and two-year postgraduate (PG) programme. However, not all colleges offer both UG and PG. For reasons of uniformity and accuracy, in this article we have considered the top 10 colleges in pharmacy that offer only four year undergraduate programmes.
Careers360 has done an in depth analysis on the top 10 institutes across India which offer a four year UG programme in pharmacy. Our study included detailed information about the graduated, placed students, and the ones who opted higher education over the last three years. It also includes the percentage of the local, national and international students who were admitted in these top pharmaceutical institutes.
In three years, most colleges in the list showed an increase in the percentage of students who graduated in the minimum stipulated time of four years. Together these colleges had an increase by 4.73 per cent and reached 97 per cent in 2020-21.

Most graduates of pharmacy background chose to go for higher studies. On an average 38 per cent of the students who graduated were successfully placed in the latest year.
Panjab University, Chandigarh had the lowest placement percentage over the last three years, because all its students chose higher education over campus placements.

On average 55.75 per cent of the students went for higher study in the latest year 2020-21, while 57.44 per cent in 2018-19.
Very few students from SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai went for higher studies.

After this analysis, we can come to the conclusion that the male-female ratio in pharmacy colleges is mostly below one. Also, most pharmacy students prefer to study after graduation and opt for higher education rather than settling for a job.
