The Government of India, several foreign countries and many private organisations offer a range of scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate studies within and outside India. Some target specific institutions or disciplines, others are more broad-based.
These scholarships are for students from different backgrounds pursuing different courses with some exclusively for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and some for technical education, such as engineering, only. Some scholarships are specifically for Indian students who are pursuing graduate and undergraduate courses in foreign countries, including France, Austria and Taiwan.
Application to many government scholarships, colloquially known as “NSP Scholarship” is via the National Scholarship Portal.
The scholarships listed below are open for application now with deadlines in the last week of March. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can start applying.
A government or a private foundation may offer a scholarship to study abroad for Indian students. International scholarships, including ones open to students studying in India as well, are listed below.
