The Government of India, several foreign countries and many private organisations offer a range of scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate studies within and outside India. Some target specific institutions or disciplines, others are more broad-based.

These scholarships are for students from different backgrounds pursuing different courses with some exclusively for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and some for technical education, such as engineering, only. Some scholarships are specifically for Indian students who are pursuing graduate and undergraduate courses in foreign countries, including France, Austria and Taiwan.

Application to many government scholarships, colloquially known as “NSP Scholarship” is via the National Scholarship Portal.
