    Scholarships are often seen as an aid to those who are not able to afford quality education, but they are also awarded to hardworking meritorious students as a reward and appreciation of their academic excellence.

    In this article, Careers360 has listed seven scholarships offered by Reliance, DBS bank, PROMYS India and Mahindra Finance. Some of these scholarships are for the children of police personnel and drivers and one is dedicated to encourage students in Maths. The deadline to avail these scholarships fall in February, 2023. Read below to explore these scholarships and apply to them according to your eligibility.

    Reliance Foundation Scholarships 2022-23

    This foundation works in areas like education, rural transformation, health, disaster management, women empowerment, sports, and many more. Under its 2022-23 scholarship programme, it will provide scholarships to around 5,000 undergraduate and 100 postgraduate meritorious students.

    For Undergraduate Students

    Eligibility:

    • Should be an Indian citizen.

    • Must have scored at least 60 per cent marks in Class 12.

    • Must be enrolled in a first-year full-time undergraduate degree course (any stream) from a recognised Indian institute or university.

    • The annual family income should not exceed Rs 15,00,000.

    Note: Preference will be given to those students whose annual family income is less than Rs 2,50,000.

    What It Covers:

    • A sum of Rs 2,00,000 over the duration of the degree course.

    For Postgraduate Students

    Eligibility:

    • Should be an Indian citizen.

    • Must be enrolled in the first-year full-time postgraduate degree course from a recognised Indian institute or university in any one of these streams - Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Material Sciences & Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Renewable & New Energy and Life Sciences.

    • Must have secured 500 to 1,000 in the GATE examination or in case the student has not taken the GATE exam, he/she must have scored at least 7.5 in his/her undergraduate CGPA (or percentage normalised to CGPA).

    What It Covers:

    • A sum of Rs 2,00,000 over the duration of the degree course.

    DBS Scholarship Programme for the children of police personnel

    An initiative of DBS Bank, this scholarship programme is dedicated to provide financial assistance to the children of police personnel of sub-inspector or below rank. Children of police personnel serving in the police force of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry are eligible for this scholarship.

    Eligibility:

    • Must be children of police personnel (Sub-Inspector and below ranks).

    • Must be studying in either Class 9 or Class 10.

    • Applicants must be residents of any of these states - Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry.

    What It Covers:

    • Rs 20,000 per year for up to 3 years (up to Class 12).

    PROMYS India (Programme in Mathematics for Young Scientists) scholarship programme 2023

    In partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, PROMYS will provide a six-week (May 7, 2023 to June 17, 2023) summer programme at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore to students who have completed Class 9. This programme aims to make Maths an interesting subject and encourage secondary and higher secondary students to study Maths.

    Eligibility:

    • Must be at least 15 years of age by May 7, 2023.

    • Those who are 19 years old or more at the start of the programme are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    • Must have passed Class 9.

    • Must be an Indian citizen.

    • Must not have taken admission in a college or university.

    • Must know English language.

    What It Covers:

    • Full scholarships that will cover expenses on tuition, books, hostel, meals, and approved travel for at least the first year of availing the scholarship.

    Saksham Scholarship Programme for Drivers’ Children

    Saksham Scholarship Programme is a CSR initiative of Mahindra Finance to provide financial support to the children of drivers belonging to Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana. This scholarship aims to help the children of drivers in continuing their studies right from Class 9 to postgraduate level.

    For Class 9-12 Students 2022-23

    Eligibility:

    • Students from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana are only eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    • Must be studying in any class from Class 9 to Class 12.

    • Must have scored at least 60 percent marks in his/her previous class.

    • One of the parents should be a driver of any of these - all light motor vehicles and small commercial vehicles like Taxi, Jeep, Car & delivery vans and must hold a valid driving licence.

    • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed Rs 4,00,000.

    • Children or family members of the employees of Mahindra Finance and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    • A maximum of two students per family can avail this scholarship.

    What It Covers:

    • For students of Class 9 and Class 10 - Rs 8,000 for 1 year.

    • For students of Class 11 and Class 12 - Rs 10,000 for 1 year.

    For Graduate Students 2022-23

    Eligibility:

    • Students from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana are only eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    • Must be studying in any year of their graduation (both general and professional), ITI, Diploma or Polytechnic courses.

    • Must have scored at least 60 percent marks in his/her previous class.

    • One of the parents should be a driver of any of these - all light motor vehicles and small commercial vehicles like Taxi, Jeep, Car & delivery vans and must hold a valid driving licence.

    • The annual family income from all sources should not exceed Rs 4,00,000.

    • Children or family members of the employees of Mahindra Finance and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    • A maximum of two students per family can avail this scholarship.

    What It Covers:

    • Rs 15,000 for 1 year.

    For Postgraduate Students 2022-23
