As per the report of Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) for 2021-22, India has around 14,89,115 lakh schools. Out of them 12.2 per cent schools are in central India Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh to be precise.
Recently, Careers360 compiled and analysed data on schools across India. This data of government schools, government aided schools , private schools etc was put together based on the UDISE+ report on basic facilities such as toilets, drinking water, library and computer labs offered by the schools.
Toilet Facilities: On an average more than 99 per cent of schools in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have toilet facilities, but out of it only 98.6 per cent are in the proper working condition.
Library: Around 96 per cent of schools have either a library, a book bank or at least a reading corner for making reading habits for their students and for gaining more knowledge.
Drinking Water: Around 1,80,099 schools which is around 99 per of total schools in this region have drinking water facilities. Out of them 96.5 per cent are in the proper functional condition.
Computer Labs: Compared to all the zones of India, the central zone is the third largest among all the six zones of India in terms of computer labs available at the schools. Around 46 per cent of the schools have computer labs, out of which 94.3 per cent are in functional condition.

In the land of Swachh Bharat Mission where toilets were considered as the most essential need, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have done a good job.
Schools of Madhya Pradesh rank the highest after Uttar Pradesh among all the states and union territories of India.

Although Chhattisgarh has a lower number of total schools compared to Madhya Pradesh, it ranks higher with regards to the number of schools with a well equipped library than Madhya Pradesh.

Chhattisgarh has more than one third schools with computer labs than Madhya Pradesh. Overall the central region is the third largest in terms of computer labs.
