Lakhs of students graduate every year. While some land campus placements, there is a sizable percentage who are not able to get on campus jobs and hence start looking for off campus opportunities. In the last few years, many companies have started to hire freshers based on their scores in processes like eLitmus.

eLitmus is a recruitment organisation which conducts national level assessment for entry level engineering jobs. eLitmus conducts an assessment exam called pH test or Hiring Potential Test. These test scores are used by various companies to shortlist the candidates for Interviews in campus placements as well as off campus placements.

Companies ranging from start-ups to global giants across domains like IT, R&D, software services, physical infrastructure and KPO considers the score of pH test for their entry level Jobs.

    Eligibility Criteria

The eLitmus pH test does not specify any eligibility criteria. However companies hiring through eLitmus may have their own criteria and these companies specify the criteria with each job advertisement.

    pH Test Pattern

pH Test is an aptitude test. It is a pen and paper test, earlier it used to be held in online mode. The duration of the test is two hours and consists of three sections which includes Quantitative section, the Verbal section and the Reasoning section.

Each section in the pH test has 20 questions and in total there are 60 questions. Which amounts to the maximum mark of 600.

In the pH test, questions in each section are objective in nature with multiple choices, and are categorised into several levels of difficulty. Final score of a candidate reflects the number of questions answered correctly along with their difficulty level.

The pH test assesses a broad range of skills that a student acquires throughout their education since childhood. It does not test a student's proficiency in any specific area or any particular subject. It presumes basic understanding of fundamentals of high school level mathematics, and basic proficiency in essential English language skills.

The below table describes the pattern of pH test-
