WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGY ?

Courses taught in Psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in colleges across India entail a study of the behaviour and mind besides of all aspects of conscious and unconscious experience as well as thought. Budding psychologists are introduced to this academic discipline and social science in depth in such a manner that they begin to understand individuals and groups and mental functions in individual and social behaviour. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology is usually a 3-year programme.Furthermore, coursework also includes exploration of behaviours and mental processes including perceptions, cognition, attention, emotions, intelligence and personalities. This also includes interactions between people such as interpersonal relationships which include psychological resilience, family resilience and other areas. Psychologists employ empirical methods to infer causal and correlational relationships between psychological variables. Some employ empirical and deductive methods. You can pursue Master of Arts in Psychology after graduation.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

UG: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Independent entrance tests for UG programme are held by the various state, central and private universities.

PG: Candidates must hold a degree in Bachelor of Psychology along with a good score in entrance tests held for PG programme conducted by various state, central and private universities.
