can I do bca with pcb in class 12th ? is it necessary to have maths or computer science in class 12 for the course ??

Subhrajit Mukherjee 14th Jun, 2021

The basic eligibility criteria for BCA is that you must pass the 10+2 with atleast 50% marks in any subjects. So there are no such oblogations regarding the subject combination.

Thus you are eligible for the course.

BCA is a three year degree course about Computer Application. The course is quite good and you can get good jobs as programmers, Analyst etc in different IT companies and MNCs. The course gives you enough exposure to learn. So if you have no background kn CS then also you will not face any problems pursuing the course.

which us better bca plus mca or btech (CS)

Subhrajit Mukherjee 14th Jun, 2021

See BCA+MCA and BTech CS both are the best courses for a student who aspire to work in MNCs and National corporate companies related IT and Computer systems. Now every course has advantage and disadvantage. Likewise both the courses you mentioned are of the same nature. Now BTech will take you 4 years to complete where as BCA+MCA will take you 6 years. So doing BTech is advantageous in terms of time. Also the curiculum for BTech CSE is more detailed than BCA+MCA. BCA+MCA will only restrict you to the application part but BTech will give you a broad perspective from Microprocessors, Hardware to all the portions of Computer Application. Also Btech gets more preference and higher salary than that of BCA+MCA.

Thus you can see BTech is a all rounder in itself and BCA+MCA didn't have any of the things which you cant get in BTech. So if you have a scope then favour BTech over BCA+MCA.

i got 20752 rank in vitee, can i get computer science in vollore?

Disha Devadiga 14th Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations on your result!!

Unfortunately, given the previous years' cut-off trends, you may not be able to get a CSE seat at VIT Vellore.  But you could give VIT Bhopal and VIT AP a try as well. As these are newer institutes, their cut-offs are not as high as those of VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai.

Hope this was helpful.

Should there be any other query, please feel free to ask.

Good luck!
