piyush singh 19th May, 2022

Hello Aspirant ,

It is very good to have a plan before preparing for a competitive exam like UPSC CSE as the chances of selections are way to less here .

The best option for you will be BBA as it is a very good course and provided you pursue your degree from a good college you will be having a very good chance of getting a job after completing your degree , you can start your preparation side by side and attempt the examination after completing your degree .

Hope this helps.

I attempted 75-80 questions in mat , and I think I can get 60correct answers out of 200, what would be my percentile

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 20th May, 2022

Hi Aspirant!

MAT exam has five sections:

  1. Mathematical Skills
  2. Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
  3. Data Analysis & Sufficiency
  4. Language Comprehension
  5. Indian and Global Environment (GK)

Each section has 40 questions and for every correct answer you get +1 mark and for every wrong answer 0.25 mark is duducted.

NOTE: GK section is not counted in the overall “Composite Score”. The composite score is the marks scored in the first four sections (GK is not a part of composite score). GK score is reported separately.

>> As you metioned that you attempted 75-80 questions, so I am assuming that this does not include questions from GK section. Thus I am assuming that you answered 75 Non-GK questions. Also, the score depends on accuracy rate as well (how many you attempted were right).

>> In first case, attempted: 75 questions, accuracy - 100%. So, the total marks will be 75 out of 160 (not including GK Part). A net score of 70 marks can take one to more than 95 percentile (overall), (as per the previous years marks vs percentile record).

>> In second case, let's assume you answered questions with 80% accuracy. It means that 60 were correct and remaining 15 were incorrect. Total marks = 60 + (15/4) = 63.75 marks, which will most probably make 85-90% overall (as per the records).

Note: It has been observed that a net score of more than 100 marks (out of 160 marks) will take one to more than 99.9 percentile.

>> So, let's wait for the actual result and do not consider the numbers above as the final result.

Thankyou!

i had completed diploma in mechanical can i do BA or its possible to take an admition to BA

Afreen. 20th May, 2022
Hello,
As per eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Art (BA) that is  a candidate should pass 12th standard. As you are a diploma holder, you don't satisfy the basic criteria for that.

As you have completed your diploma in engineering then going to Art side can be confusing decision, you can go for b. tech  after your diploma course.
You can check the eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Art by going through this link :-

fees for diploma course for merchant Navy after 12th

Anushri Varshney 19th May, 2022

Hi aspirant,

A career in the merchant navy usually involves the safe transportation of goods from one place to another. The job of a merchant navy officer is to take care of the country’s commercial shipping. Individuals who opt for a career as a merchant navy spend most of their life on a ship sailing through the sea, rather than on land. Therefore, it is more of a lifestyle than a career.

You can simply join Merchant navy right after you clear Dioloma in mechanical enginerring and then 2 year DG shipping course provided by the Marine institutes.

Generally the fees is approx 1lakh per year for the course which gradually increases based on the institute you will be getting admission in.
