Hello as I got iict in 3 round of counseling is it had good carreer
dear aspirant,
The market for carpet is limited in India. In fact, Bhadohi, which is the largest hand-knotted carpet industry hub in South Asia, exports most of the carpets.
There is a dire to revive the carpet technology used in looms in India (which is obsolete). Most looms are of out-dated technology because carpet industry is still dominated by MSMEs which do not have enough capital to adopt new technologies. Hence, India is losing its textile sector to countries like Bangladesh.
IICT (Indian Institute of Carpet Technology), Bhadohi, which is an institution solely decedicted for the carpet technology does not have a good placement records (though the %ge of placement is good but the CTCs.. are very low - 2 - 2.5 - 3 LPA) and the companies that visit here are (most of them are situated in Bhadohi itself):like welspun, kapoor carpets
Hence, as far as B. Tech in Carpet Technology is concerned, it has a very limited scope.
regards.
