With a population of 1.35 billion, India is the second largest smartphone market with data consumption rising from 20 million Terabytes in 2017 to 55 million Terabytes in 2019. India consumes 11GB/user/month, highest in the world. Existing 3G/4G technologies cannot meet the exploding growth of data demands. 5G & IoT technologies have enormous potential and scope in India. The global telecom body GSMA expects India to have 920 million unique mobile subscribers by 2025 including 88 million 5G connections. Furthermore, with 20 billion devices expected by 2020 end, more than 22 million jobs & USD 3.5 trillion global investment is expected in Telecom & IoT by 2035. Several IITs in collaboration with industries have setup 5G testbeds & telecom giants have started 5G trials in India. Several 5G smartphones have already been launched in India & TRAI is in the process of 5G spectrum allocation to telecom operators. Unlike delayed 3G & 4G services, India is keen to deploy 5G networks rapidly & it is expected 5G will be implemented in India as early as 2021.
This specialization aims to leverage the huge potential of the integrated 5G-IoT ecosystem in India in order to realize Industry 4.0, Digital India, Make in India missions such as Smart City, Smart Healthcare, Smart Agriculture, Smart Education, Smart Industry, Smart Grid, Smart Transportation, Smart e-Governance etc.
The curriculum has been uniquely designed in collaboration with industries and experts in the relevant field. The curriculum incorporates core ECE subjects plus innovative courses covering cutting edge technologies such as Massive MIMO, LTE-Advanced, mmWave, Massive-IoT, 5G-NR, NB-IoT, SDN, Cloud-RAN, Edge Computing, NFV, HetNets, Network Slicing & more.
Moreover, full-fledged state-of-the-art laboratories, project based learning environment and regular industrial visits (every semester) are conducted to amplify practical exposure & hand-on experience of the students.

Admissions through AUEEE (Ansal University Engineering Entrance Exam) and JEE Main Entrance Exam.
A candidate must have passed with the Minimum 50% marks at higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 50% aggregate in PCM at senior secondary level (12th class) from any recognized board.
