For students from the general stream (basic science) seeking admission into M.Sc. (Food Tech.), M.Sc (Agri) in Biotechnology and M.Sc. Admission to all departments at AAU Jorhat is given based on the common merit list prepared by the university on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination. Separate merit lists will be prepared for the faculties of veterinary science, community science and fisheries science. For Assam Agricultural University Ph.D. admissions, candidates need to appear for the entrance examination that consists of a written test and an interview. Assam Agriculture University happens to be the first agricultural university in the north eastern region of the country. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Home Science, Fisheries Science, Horticulture and Sericulture.
