Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is an agricultural education state university which was established on 1 April 1969 in Jorhat in the state of Assam, India. Admission to all departments at AAU Jorhat is given based on the common merit list prepared by the university on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination. Separate merit lists will be prepared for the faculties of veterinary science, community science and fisheries science.

The university offers at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. For B.V.Sc.& A.H. admissions, candidates have to appear for NEET for AIPVT counselling. Admission to the PG programme at AAU Jorhat is offered based on the performance of candidates in the CET- common entrance test. For Ph.D. admissions, students need to appear for a written test and an interview.
