Some of the Assam Agricultural University courses offered at AAU Jorhat are B.Sc., B.V.Sc., M.Sc., M.B.A. etc. Streams in which AAU Jorhat courses are offered are sciences, medicine and allied sciences, management and business administration, arts, humanities and social sciences and animation and design. The university offers a total of 44 courses. AAU Jorhat UG courses duration varies from four to five years, whereas AAU Jorhat PG course duration is two years. AAU Jorhat admissions are offered only to those students who will meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the university. The basic eligibility criteria for Assam Agricultural University courses- B.Sc. is that students must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent in science stream with 50% marks from a recognised board. Assam Agriculture University happens to be the first agricultural university in the north eastern region of the country. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Home Science, Fisheries Science, Horticulture and Sericulture.
Admission into all B.Sc. courses is on the basis of merit in 10+2 examination. Counseling is done at the university level for the course. Candidates can fill in the admission form online and pay the entrance fee.
The minimum requirement is the successful completion 10+2 from a recognized board.

Two colleges are affiliated to Assam Agricultural University. Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, Lakhimpur and College of Fisheries Science, Nagaon. Admissions at AAU Jorhat are offered at UG, PG and doctoral levels. The university conducts a common entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes. For B.V.Sc.& A.H. admissions, candidates have to appear for NEET for AIPVT counselling. Admission to the PG programme at AAU Jorhat is offered based on the performance of candidates in the CET- common entrance test. For Ph.D. admissions, students need to appear for a written test and an interview.
