Berhampur University Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. At present there are thirteen hostels inside the campus out of which Six for boys. All are well furnished & well maintained. Every hostel has a common room where borders are provided with newspapers, periodicals, and television, inverters, etc. Multi-Gyms are provided to the hostels to make all fit and healthy. Mess facility along with fresh and hygienic food is available for the borders.

The University has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. At present there are thirteen hostels inside the campus out of which seven for girls. All are well furnished & well maintained. Every hostel has a common room where borders are provided with newspapers, periodicals and television, inverters etc. Multi-Gyms are provided to the hostels to make all fit and healthy. Mess facility along with fresh and hygienic food is available for the borders. All Ladies hostels are in within one boundary and provided with matrons and adequate security (7x24 hours).

It is a 4-storey building having four main sections. Currently, there are over 1,48,721 volumes of books and other resources in the R.P. Padhi Library, such as popular journals, print journals, theses and reports in Science & Technology, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences. Besides these, users of R.P. Padhi Library can access over 2,03,600 e-books, e-journals and other electronic reading materials through ProQuest Database.

The university participates in the Inter-University Tournaments organized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi in eighteen disciplines, such as Athletics (Men & Women), Basketball (Men & Women), Badminton (Men & Women), Boxing, Cricket (Men & Women), Chess (Men & Women), Football, Hockey, Handball, Kabaddi (Men & Women), Kho-Kho (Men & Women), Table Tennis (Men & Women), Volleyball, Weight Lifting (Men & Women) & Best Physique.

The Heath Centre has facilities for providing preventive and curative Health Care with both Allopathic and Homeopathic treatment. Further, the service is not only extended to students, staff and their family members but also to the general public in the neighboring villages as there are no medical facilities available nearby to treat the patients. The university also has an ambulance service available within the campus premises in case of any injuries.

A central canteen for the students with a capacity of about 50 was started in the year 1980. It is managed by private firms approved by the University authority. It works throughout the week. It provides meals and snacks (veg and non-veg).

The University has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The sports complex is equipped with a gym and with the latest fitness equipment.

Berhampur University has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students.

The University Transportation Services provides bus Services to the day scholars and the employees of the university who are not staying on the campus. There are many buses run by the university at the scheduled hours of the day to meet the university community's transportation needs.

The University also has a convenience store for its students, which includes stationary and photocopying facilities.
