BITS Pilani offers admissions to the undergraduate, postgraduate diploma and doctoral programmes. For Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani admission, candidates first have to meet the eligibility criteria. Once the eligibility criteria is met, candidates also have to appear for entrance tests, except P.G.D programmes. For example, for the B.Tech, B.Pharma and M.Sc. programme admission, candidates have to appear for BITSAT, Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) and CAT/XAT/GMAT (optional) for M.B.A. and BITS HD for M.E and M.Pharma programmes. For BITS Pilani admission to the M.E. and M.Pharma programmes, candidates may also appear for GATE (for M.E.) and GPAT (for M.Pharm) in spite of BITS HD.
As per the BITS Pilani admission criteria, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of scores of the entrance test for further admission process. Those candidates meeting the cutoff are called for BITS counselling for the B.Tech, B.Pharma and M.Sc. programme admission. Performance in BAAT, personal interview, CAT/XAT/GMAT scores (if available), work experience and academic records are considered for the M.B.A programme admission at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Similarly, merit scores of BITS HD are used to shortlist the candidates as per the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani admission procedure for the M.E and M.Pharma programme admission. The institute offers four-year duration full-time undergraduate programmes. B.Tech and B.Pharma are the UG programmes offered by Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
