Central University of Himachal Pradesh was established in 2009 under the Central Universities Act and became functional in 2010. The campus of the university spreads over an area of 150 acres of land. CUHP is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Central University of Himachal Pradesh is recognised and regulated by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university follows a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate diploma and postgraduate courses. The courses offered by the university are  B.Sc. (H), B.A. (H), B.F.A., B.Voc., PG diploma, M.B.A, M.S.W., M.A., M.Sc., M.Lib.I.Sc. Admissions are merit-based. Qualifying exam marks are considered for UG programme admission and marks of the entrance test and qualifying exam for PG programme admission. The university has a total 75 well-qualified faculty members. The total number of students enrolled at present is 1534. Thus, the student-teacher ratio at CUHP is 20:1. 

Ample facilities are provided by the university. Some of them are library, classrooms, boys hostel, girls hostel, cafeteria, medical clinic, transport, sports, gym, auditorium, wi-fi, IT infrastructure, laboratories, bank, etc. Central University of Himachal Pradesh has a placement cell that helps in the placement of the final year students. The placement also provides pre-placement training and career counselling to the students. The university also provides scholarships like Freeship/Fee Concession, Jyoti Prakash Support Scholarship. CUHP has many national and international collaborations like ICSI, Centre for North East Studies, IRCS, University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt, Germany and many more. Central University of Himachal Pradesh Facilities

Many facilities are provided by the university. The university provides facilities for the students, staff and faculty members. Central University of Himachal Pradesh facilities include library, classrooms, boys hostel, girls hostel, cafeteria, medical clinic, transport, sports, gym, auditorium, wi-fi, IT infrastructure, laboratories, etc. Both boys and girls students can avail the hostel facility at CUHP. Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria first in order to take admission to the courses provided by the university. Central University of Himachal Pradesh courses are offered at various undergraduate, postgraduate diploma and postgraduate levels. B.Sc. (H), B.A. (H), B.F.A.,B.Voc., PG diploma, M.B.A, M.S.W., M.A., M.Sc., M.Lib.I.Sc. are the courses offered by the university. Candidates should have minimum 50% marks in 10+2 for CUHP UG course, except B.Voc. programme, in which 40% marks is required. For PG programmes, minimum 50% marks in graduation is required.

Central University of Himachal Pradesh Admissions

After meeting the eligibility criteria, candidates have to fill the Central University of Himachal Pradesh application form. CUHP admissions to the UG and PG programmes are based on merit. In case of UG programme, merit score of the qualifying exam is calculated and in case of PG programme merit score of qualifying exam and entrance exam is taken in consideration. After the selection of the candidates, they have to submit the documents and pay the fees to confirm Central University of Himachal Pradesh admission.

Central University of Himachal Pradesh Scholarships

The university provides scholarships with the aim of helping the financially disadvantaged students. The scholarships provided by the university are Freeship/Fee Concession, Jyoti Prakash Support Scholarship. Central University of Himachal Pradesh scholarships are provided to those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria. 

1. Freeship/Fee Concession- To avail this scholarships candidates should be pursuing 1st semester of M.A. History with minimum 55% marks in the qualifying exam. The annual family income should be up to Rs. 5 lakhs.

The placement cell of the university helps in the placement of the students. Central University of Himachal Pradesh also provides placement training and career counselling.
