All boundaries have been transcended, and the entire global community seems to have been brought together into one unified whole which has led mass-communication, as a stream of study, and as a career, becomes so important and enviable. Mass Communication is not limited to journalism alone. To a great extent mass media is a modern reality which covers all aspects of human life.
University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) promotes, nurtures and develops creative and effective communicators and managers in the exhilarating field of mass communication. UIMS focuses on the meaning, value, and quality of emerging and enduring forms of mass media, i.e, Digital & Electronic Media and fosters an environment of experiential learning that encourages students to explore new ideas and to experiment.
The candidate should have passed 10+2 with atleast 50% marks in aggregate (In case of SC/ST category 45%) or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council in the aggregate OR 45% marks in 10+2 in any stream with atleast 55% in English as the subject
