Established in the year 1970 under the Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act 1970, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) is a state university approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The campus of the varsity is built over an area of 6084 square feets. There are 404 faculty members at CCSHAU Hisar. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses. The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) programme offered by the varsity is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Whereas, agriculture stream courses are approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

The university gives admission to its programme on the basis of entrance examination score. For admission in M.Sc. & Ph.D courses Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted by the varsity. • National Service Scheme (NSS): The job of the NSS is to educate society about values and social rights. It also integrates social responsibility among the students.

• National Cadet Corps (NCC): It helps and encourages students to go in the defense forces and also instate discipline among students. 

CCSHAU Facilities and Infrastructure

The gigantic campus of the university has ample number of facilities for the students. The facilities and infrastructure of the varsity give students a comfortable environment. Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University facilities are a library, separate hostels for boys and girls students, canteen, auditorium etc. The university has 5 boys hostels and 8 girls hostels. All the hostels have a separate mess. The library of the varsity is called Nehru Library. It has 6 reading rooms and around 3,50,000 lakh books. The entire campus is wifi enabled. 

A 50 bed hospital is also there at the campus. The hospital has modern facilities and provides medical aid to students, faculty members and even to the visitors. CCSHAU Hisar facilities also include infrastructure for sports like badminton, squash, athletics, football etc. University sports facilities allow students to train and compete in various tournaments conducted inside and outside the campus.

CCSHAU Hisar Courses

Students can study undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes at the varsity. The university offers 68 courses in engineering, agriculture, management and many more streams. AICTE and ICAR have approved M.B.A. and agriculture stream courses of the university respectively.
