The VLSI programme focuses on the development of hands-on skills in designing semi-conductor devices and circuits, building systems using embedded components such as CPU, memory and peripherals. Students will learn several topics that cut across different domains, starting from the lowest level of physical devices to the top level of application development. Topics such as CMOS VLSI Design, SOC Design, Advanced Embedded Systems, VLSI Design and Verification, Design of Analog and Mixed-Mode VLSI circuits, Real- Time OS, Advanced Microcontrollers, Low-Power VLSI Design and more are covered in this course.
Admission is based on GATE and PGCET Entrance Exam
Candidates must have Bachelor’s with not less than 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates belonging to Karnataka) in Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation Technology / Telecommunication Engineering / Electrical & Electronics / Bio-Medical Engineering / Medical Electronics or equivalent degree; AMIE in appropriate branch & taken at least one of the following entrance exams: GATE/PGCET: EC, EE, IT.
