24 MonthsAgronomy is a branch of Agricultural Sciences. It is the science and technology of producing and also using plants for food, fuel, feed, fiber, and recovery. It helps develop stronger research and development emphasizing the sustainability of the production of food grains, keeping in mind the long-term impact of said practices. The recent impact of variations in climate, economy, ecological, and environmental factors have proved a significant need for investment in research, enhancement, and productivity of agronomy and grain production. This course enables aspiring agronomists to study and understand crops and soils in which they grow. They will be equipped to develop methods that improve soil fertility and texture, thus increasing the overall production of food grains and fiber crops. Students will also learn how to research in crop rotation, irrigation and drainage, plant breeding, soil classification, soil fertility, weed control, and more. The Department of Agricultural Sciences, Graphic Era Hill University is equipped with highly distinguished and experienced faculty. The campus boasts of a magnificent agriculture farm with the setup of different agricultural practices such as horticulture, agronomy, animal husbandry, fish farming, mushroom cultivation, and more, thus providing students with adequate field exposure and practical knowledge.
