Established in 1921, Harcourt Butler Technical University is one of the famous universities of Uttar Pradesh for providing technical education. HBTU is one of the oldest engineering colleges of India (formerly known as HBTI) which provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering along with MCA  giving a wide range of options for students. HBTU Kanpur was also one of the 127 technical institutions in India that received funding from the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) in phase one (2004-2009) of the Technical Engineering Educational Quality Improvement Project (TEQIP)-the first World Bank Higher Education Project in India.

The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of  Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi. The institute has been ranked 166  by MHRD, National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the year 2020. Spread in 348 acres, HBTU Kanpur is well equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure. HBTU is the only institute in North India which offers B.Tech. inChemical Technology branches like Paint Technology, Plastic Technology,Leather Technology, Food Technology, Oil Technology and Biochemical Engineering. HBTU Fee:

Students who are applying for HBTU courses need to pay the HBTU fees for the first year at the time of admission along with the admission fees. The average fees for B.Tech course is 5.83 lakhs. Harcourt Butler Technical University Admission:

HBTU Kanpur courses include B.Tech, M.Tech., MCA and PhD programmes. For engineering programmes B.Tech and M.Tech, HBTU Kanpur admission will be available on the basis of national level entrance examination JEE Mains and GATE respectively. However, for HBTU admission in M.Tech programme , entrance test will also be conducted if the candidate is not a GATE qualifier. Eligible candidates need to submit the application form in online mode on the official website. Shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the document verification process. Final admission will be considered after paying requisite fees.

For MCA course, candidates need to qualify the national level test NIMCET.

HBTU Admission Procedure for B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA Programmes

• Appear for the national level entrance examination that is JEE mains and GATE for B.Tech and M.Tech respectively.

• Meet the eligibility criteria.

• Submit the application form

• Release of list of shortlisted candidates

For M.Tech programme, candidates who do not appear in the GATE exam, need to appear in the entrance exam conducted by HBTU Kanpur.

HBTU Scholarship

HBTU scholarships are available for the students to provide them financial aid to continue their education. HBTU  scholarship is basically available for the students who are pursuing doctoral programs. A stipend of Rs.28000 will be given per month to complete their fellowship.

• Sending Invitation - Invitation to the top in reputed companies will be sent by the HBTU placement cell. Along with the invitation the placement brochure and all the other documents also attached in the mail.

• Acceptance of Invitation - Companies interested in HBTU placement drive assure their presence on the date mutually decided by placement cell and recruiters.

• Registration of the interested students - Students who are interested in placement drive need to register themselves for the HBTU Kanpur placement. The registration includes the submission of important documents such as academic details and resume.

• Pre-Placement Talk - As a part of pre-placement talk, recruiters make students aware about the companies and their requirements.

• Selection Procedure - The different assessments, group discussion and interview performed by the recruiters must be qualified by students in order to be eligible for the final selection.

• Job Offer - Candidates qualifying the selection test, GD and PI are finally selected and are offered jobs.
