IIEST Shibpur admissions are offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels to the students. The institute offers all the programmes in full-time mode. IIEST Shibpur offers B.Tech M.Tech, M.Sc, M.E/M.Tech, M.B.A, M.Plan Urban and Regional Planning at the postgraduate level. The duration of the postgraduate programmes of the institute is 2 years.

A merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the entrance examinations.
Shortlisted candidates have to participate in the counselling process.
Following that, shortlisted candidates have to give preference to the IIEST Shibpur.
Candidates are selected and assigned seats based on the participation in the counselling process, rank, and preferences.
Once selected, candidates must get their documents verified and pay the IIEST Shibpur fees.
Students have to meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligible candidates have to appear for GATE and obtain valid scores.
Following that, students have to complete the application form available on the official website.
Candidates are shortlisted based on the GATE scores.
Once assigned a seat, selected candidates have to get their documents verified and pay desired course fees to complete the admission process.
Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria.
Next, eligible candidates must either apply for the JAM examination or the IIEST entrance examination.
One can apply for the M.Sc programme after the final marks or all India rank of the students who took the IIEST exam or JAM entrance exams are announced.
Students must now complete an application form and a self-declaration form on the IIEST Shibpur portal.
IIEST Shibpur will publish a merit list for the shortlisted candidates.
Once assigned a seat, selected candidates must get their documents verified and pay the IIEST Shibpur course fees.
Eligible candidates have to fill the IIEST Shibpur application form and submit it on the official website.
Next, candidates have to appear for the IIEST Shibpur written exam.
Based on the valid scores, candidates have to participate in a Viva or a personal interview round.
Once assigned a seat, selected candidates must get their documents verified and pay the desired course fees.

Yes, there are several scholarship and fellowship programmes by IIEST. One will have to apply in these scholarship programs, and based on merit, one will get their due scholarship from the institute.
No, as IIEST have kept 50% seats in M.Sc. reserved for those who do not have a JAM scorecard. These students will have to appear in the IIEST entrance exam, and if qualified, will get a chance to apply for M.Sc.
In light of the current scenario of the pandemic, the IIEST Shibpur admission process is held online. One will have to fill the application form, get the verification done and also attend a personal interview online. One will get provisional admission till the documents are verified in person.
The IIEST have a seat reserved for both west Bengal domicile holding candidates and outside west Bengal students. 50% of seats are for candidates from West Bengal, and the remaining 50% are for candidates from outside West Bengal.
The application form of IIEST is Rs. 1500/- for those who belong to the general category and Rs. 1000/- for those who belong to the reserved category.

Placement scenario has seen a massive improvement at IIEST Shibpur. Almost all the students who registered for placements got placed from computer science and engineering department. Multiple students were placed at each of the big companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Uber, Direct, etc. Companies like Deustche Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Barclays Bank, PwC, etc. Have recruited students as well.
The highest offered package is 42 LPA, at IIEST SHIBPUR median being around 9 LPA. The internship scenario needs to improve, with around 15% students of 3rd Year getting internships.
