The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi, organizes placement drives annually. The IIIT Ranchi Placement and Training Cell manages the campus placements and sends out invitations to various organizations and firms. The Placement and Training Cell of IIIT functions as a mediator between the students and the corporate world. The cell prepares the students to crack interviews and trains them to meet the requirements of the specific organization visiting the campus for recruiting fresh graduates. Every year, esteemed companies participate in the placement drive and recruit students by offering them decent salary packages.

The Training and Placement cell of IIIT Ranchi follows a particular pattern while conducting the placement drive. The pattern is bifurcated into six steps which are given below:

Step 1: The Training and Placement Cell of IIIT Ranchi sends out invitations to reputed organizations/firms via e-mail to visit the campus for recruiting fresh B.Tech. graduates. Along with the invitation mail, the cell also attaches the required documents like placement brochure of IIIT, terms of the institute and other demands or clauses.

Step 2: The interested companies will accept the invitation and confirm their active participation in the scheduled dates of the placement drive.

Step 3: The Placement and Training Cell will send out circulars regarding the placement drive after interested companies accept the invitation. Interested students who want to appear for the interview rounds conducted by the various organizations can register themselves by filling out the application forms.

Step 4: A pre-placement meeting is held by both the parties and particular dates are decided for the company to visit the campus. The specific firm will conduct its placement rounds on the mutually allotted dates and complete their recruitment process.

Step 5: The companies visit IIIT on their allotted dates and conduct various rounds to check the eligibility of the candidate for the designation offered. Rounds like PI (Personal Interview), GD (Group Discussion), Writing Skill Test, and Aptitude Test are held by the firms. The candidate is selected if he/she successfully clears all the above rounds.

Step 6: After clearing the final round of the interview, the candidate is recruited and offered a salary package. If the candidate rejects the offered job, he/she will not be allowed to participate in any other interview rounds conducted by different organizations.
