Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat is an institute of National importance established by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. It is also referred to as IIIT Kilohrad or IIIT Sonepat. The idea of setting up IIIT Sonepat is a result of the act of MHRD. MHRD introduced the bill in the parliament in 2013, regarding the establishment of 20 new IIITs in different parts of the country. As per the bill, IIIT Sonepat was established in 2014 in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, State Government of Haryana and Industries partners. It began its academic activities in the campus of its mentoring institute, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra.  The college has been operating its transit campus inside the IIT Sonepat Campus at the Techno Park (I-TEC), Sonepat. IIIT Sonepat is committed to generating highly competent professionals of global standards for the development and growth of the Information Technology industry.

IIIT Sonepat currently offers B. Tech. programme in two streams, Information Technology (IT) and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat provides admission to academic courses through JOSAA and CSAB. JOSAA allocation is based on the rank of the students in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) followed by seat allocation that is done through JOSAA. The admission to the academic year 2021 will begin once the JEE Mains results are declared.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat Admission

IIIT Sonepat offers admission to its undergraduate technical course based on the rank obtained in JEE Mains. It offers B. Tech in two disciplines, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT). The total number of students enrolled last year for the B. Tech programmes was 114.

The admission procedure of IIIT Sonepat is online. One needs to log in to JOSAA official website for the online counselling once JEE Mains results are declared.

IIIT Sonepat Admissions through JEE Mains Entrance Exam

Since the institute offers admission based on the scores obtained in JEE Mains, one needs to a decent score to secure a seat in IIIT Sonepat. The candidates should follow the following procedure to get admission in IIIT Sonepat:

·       The candidates should appear for JEE Mains Entrance Exam.

·       Admission is made through JOSAA/CSAB online counselling. After JEE Mains result declaration, the candidates should register online for the counselling.

·       Fill in the available choices given at the time of counselling

·        If the seat is allotted, the candidates need to submit required documents for verification and pay the institute fee.
