IIIT Sonepat: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat (IIIT Sonepat) had its establishment in the year 2014 and it is one of the new IIITs approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It started its academic semester under the guidance of National Institute of Technology, Sonepat (NIT Sonepat). IIIT Sonepat courses consist of an undergraduate course in two different specialisations. The admissions at the institute are done on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) rank acquired by the candidate followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling. 

IIIT Sonepat campus size is over 300 acres with various facilities for all of its students. IIIT Sonepat Courses 

The courses offered by the institute consist of an undergraduate full time course in the fields of Engineering and Architecture. The UG course offers B.Tech degree in 2 different specialisations which are Computer Science and Engineering(CSE) and Information Technology(IT). The duration of the said courses is 4 years in total and the total fees of these courses are Rs 5.59 lakhs. The institute also offers Ph.D courses with its first batch of students in 2022-23 session.

IIIT Sonepat Admissions

Candidates who wish to pursue the courses offered by the institute will be required to meet the eligibility criteria set by the institute for the courses. Candidates seeking admissions to the UG B.Tech courses must appear and qualify in JEE Mains entrance examination and secure a decent rank to meet the required cutoff percentile for the admission. After the declaration of JEE Mains results, the candidates will have to participate in CSAB/JoSAA counselling round for seat allocations. To confirm their allotted seats candidates must get their documents verified and pay the course fees.

IIIT Sonepat Cutoffs

Fresh cutoffs are released by the institute every year and candidates seeking admission to the institute must obtain the required cutoff percentile set by the exam conducting committee to successfully secure a seat in the institute after the final seat allotments. Cutoffs are determined on the basis of:

• Difficulty level of JEE Mains,

• Total seats available,

• Cutoffs of past years,

• Total number of applicants,

And many other determining factors including cutoff trends of past years.

IIIT Sonepat Facilities

IIIT Sonepat infrastructure is established over 300 acres of land with all the basic facilities offered to all its students. Sonepat Railway Junction is the closest railway station to the institute with an approximate distance of 13 kms with public transport and other means of transport available there. Other railway stations close to the IIIT Sonepat are New Delhi railway station which is approximately 46 kms away and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station which is approximately 56 kms away from the institute. There is Indira Gandhi International airport also at a distance of approximately 50 kms from the institute.
