Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara, Gujarat, is one of the 20 IIITs that the Government of India has set up all over India. IIIT Vadodara aims at developing new knowledge in the field of Information Technology. They aspire to contribute to producing quality manpower in the industry augmenting growth.  

The Indian Institute of Information Technology came into being with partners such as Government of Gujarat and Government of India along with the Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals and the private industry giant TATA Consultancy Services. IIIT Vadodara was founded in the year 2013. The Indian Institute of Information Technology is sharing the campus of Government Engineering College in Gandhinagar, as their permanent campus is under construction. 

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara provides the students with degrees in the graduation, postgraduate and PhD programmes as well. The students have the choice of choosing between Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT) in the case of choosing the IIITV B. Tech. course, whereas there are two M. Tech courses provided by the Indian Institute of Information Technology in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Location

One can reach the institute by taking any local public transport from Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station which is at a distance of around 32 km from the college campus. From Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad the college is about 24.5 km away.

1.     IIIT Vadodara Team won second prize in IEEE Gov-TechThon 2020 virtual Hackathon.

2.     1-4 December 2020- The institute held its orientation programme for first-year B. Tech students on a virtual platform.

3.     7 November 2020- IIIT Vadodara held its third convocation virtually.

IIIT Vadodara is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) along with other IIIT’s in India.

Clubs, Committees and Councils

Developer Students Club - The goal of the club is to provide the students with an opportunity to grow their knowledge of developer technologies and more through peer-to-peer workshops.

Coding Club - This is the club of coding enthusiasts of IIIT Vadodara encouraging and promoting coding skills on campus. They also optimise their skill sets by organising events such as tech talks, master classes, research project jams, hands-on workshops and competitive programming tournaments.

Cerebro – It is the Annual Technical Festival of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara held in March. It is organized by the Technical Society of IIIT, Vadodara and serves as a platform for technophiles to showcase their creativity and intelligence. The festival aims to bring together great minds through various activities like technical workshops, events, talks and exhibitions.

Obscura - Photography Club is a forum for all prospective photographers to facilitate creativity in the domains of cinematography and photography. They conduct frequent workshops to keep up learning and fun. 

Facilities

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara is currently operating out of the campus of Government Engineering College in Gandhinagar as their 50-acre permanent campus is being built. Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara campus is well equipped with the best facilities and the infrastructure which is required for the overall growth of the students. 

One of the major facilities that students who come to IIITs need, is the hostel facility. The Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara offers the student with hostel facilities. The hostel is also Wi-Fi enabled.  

The Library provides the students of IIIT Vadodara with unrestricted access to all the digital and printed resources that are useful for the purpose of research and academic purposes. The Library of the Indian Institute of Information Technology constantly updates its collection of books and other study-materials across the two platforms, i.e. digital and printed.

IIIT Vadodara Courses Offered and Fee Structure

IIIT Vadodara offers undergraduate technical programmes in two disciplines, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT).

The institute offers Master’s programmes in two disciplines, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The doctoral programmes offered by the institute are in the field of Algebra Statistics, Computer Vision Remote Sensing Image Analysis, Information Security BlockChain Technology, Machine Learning Application to Wireless Communication Signal Processing Coding Theory and VLSI Design and Embedded System.

IIIT Vadodara Admission

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara offers B. Tech in two disciplines, Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. The admission is made on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in JEE Mains followed by JOSAA counselling. The admission process of IIIT Vadodara is given below:

·       Appear for JEE Mains Entrance Exam

·       Check last year cut-offs and eligibility criteria

·       After the declaration of result appears for JOSAA counselling

·       Submit the required documents for verification and pay the institute fee if the seat is allotted

The admission process for the master’s programme M. Tech offered by the institute in Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering are given below:

·       Check the eligibility criteria and fill in the application form

·       If shortlisted, register for CCMT counselling process

·       Seat allotment is done based on CCMT counselling, submit the required documents and pay the fee

The admission to the doctoral programmes offered by IIIT Vadodara for a duration of 5 years is made according to the following process:

·       Appear for the written examination followed by an interview process

·       The candidates qualified for GATE/CSIR/UGC-NET/UGC-JRF are given more preference during admissions

·       Admission is made on the basis of marks secured in the written test and interview process
