Admission Process

  • Candidates are short-listed for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI)
  • A Admission in PGP in IIMA through valid CAT-2018 score.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, this is relaxed to 45%), of any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.  The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be based on the practice followed by the institution/university from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case of the candidate being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIMA by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100.
  • A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks. Such a candidate, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent

Some people say A in IIM-A stands for academic rigor. First, that's a fact. The entire first year program is so gracefully packed, it will push you just to your limits. It’s not just about academics either, it’s about projects, clubs, sports and much more. The best part, however, is the people you get to meet here.

Well, people say IIMA is the mecca of management education in India and they're aren't lying! It indeed is the best place to enhance your overall personality. The other part is what helps us grow and prosper as a person. The umpteen number of clubs, activities, elected positions of responsibility, etc. gives every student a chance to hone their leadership potential and get prepared for bigger challenges in life. The campus is full of cultural events, parties, music shows, dance shows, dramas, etc. That was about general life at IIMA, the FABM program in specific is ranked number 1 in the entire world. The first year of study is common with the flagship PGP program students. The second year is more specific to the Food and Agribusiness sector. There are electives to choose from which gives a fair amount of flexibility to the students. There are numerous competitions and projects which provide great learning. Placements are great if you are prepared enough, good otherwise. Awesome support system for entrepreneurship.

This place teaches you what you are good at and how to choose things which are good for you. The college has an excellent library, sports complex, football ground, cricket ground. To enhance corporate exposure, various clubs, and PGP committee conduct guest lectures and presentations. These guest lectures are even a part of some of the courses. This helps in getting your mindset aligned with the industry. The dorms (Hostels) are very well designed to facilitate interaction between people.

Indian Institute of management, Ahmedabad provides you a different insight towards life. With world class facilities in terms of infrastructure, faculty, library, placements, research opportunities, IIMA offers a great learning experience. In the process of learning to cope up with the rigour on campus, the students learn a plethora of other qualities – punctuality, adaptability, prioritising things. Not a single day passes by when I’ve not thought that I’ve missed something during the day. There’re simply too many things going on in the campus – be it club activities, speaker sessions, academic remedial sessions – you find it really difficult to let go off one activity and take part in the other. In addition to showing a successful placement rate every year, the college also allows you to pursue your passion. The peer group in the university is one of the main boosting factors to perform well. The faculty identifies the specific talents a student has and encourage them to shine in their fields.
