I studied Masters in Aerospace Engineering under propulsion specialisation. My reason to choose this branch was the high class teachings offered in IIT Bombay. The quality of teaching was world class with some of the most top professors teaching from all over India.
There is no concept of getting a free seat in IITs . You need to clear jee advanced to get into these colleges . And you need to be under atleast 2-3k to get a good branch in these IITs in these colleges.
The cut offs although varies a bit depending upon the certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the examination, previous year cutoffs and difficulty level of the paper.
You must achieve a rank of at least under 1000 in order to be admitted to IIT Bombay.
You need to achieve an AJEE Advance rank of roughly 65 to be admitted to IIT Bombay's top branches, including as engineering and computer science.
