- Companies may get in touch with CDS for their placement information and to participate in IIT Gandhinagar placements.
- The company then submits a Job Announcement Form (JAF) detailing the eligibility, roles, responsibilities and other criteria they want in students.
- The CDS publishes this information for students to browse and make their choices.
- Students then apply for the desired role of a company on the portal of CDS.
- CDS submits these student resumes to the company.
- Companies visit the campus on the decided date and slot that is pre-decided.
- Companies conduct PPT (pre-placement talk) for detailing what they are looking for in a candidate, roles and responsibilities, etc.
- Students appear for the selection process that may contain a test, interview or other steps for selection as laid out by the company
- A final list of selected candidates is published, preferably on the same day.

See, preparatory courses are offered to those student who the IITs think that if we invest an year on these students, then these students may perform very well if they are admitted in the normal B.Tech programmes offered by the various IITs. So, if you have been selected by IIT Bombay in the preparatory course, then you'll have to do your course from IIT Bombay itself, and not IIT Gandhinagar.

Do IIT Gandhinagar contain sports programs like basketball, Football, Table tennis?
The sports facilities in IIT Gandhinagar is commendable. They have we'll maintained football court, outdoor basketball, cricket field with nets for practice, indoor table tennis courts. Swimming pool facilities, fully air-conditioned gyms are also available. There is also a swimming pool and training is given by qualified instructors.
