All the IITs across India for admission in B. Tech. courses require the candidate to pass the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE. The students should check the qualifying JEE score as established by the institute. For admission in B.Tech in IIT Mandi, the candidate should undertake the JEE Advanced and the required band score that the test-taker should attain will be uploaded on the official website of IIT Mandi. IIT Mandi B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

IIT Mandi B. Tech. Admission through JEE Advanced

IIT Mandi B. Tech. admissions are based on the rank that students attain in the JEE Advanced examination, which is held once every year. The cut-off ranks are released by JoSAA, in the form of opening and closing ranks. The stages are explained below: 

• The candidates must register for JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations. 

• The candidates must appear for JEE Main and should be able to make the cut-off. Once they have achieved the required cut-off, they become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced examination. 

• The candidates must score well in the JEE Advanced examination. JoSAA releases the cut-off based on college ranking. 

• Shortlisted candidates must appear for a counselling session to obtain the specialisation.

IIT Mandi offers M. Tech. in Mechanical engineering, energy engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Communications and Signals Processing, Biotechnology, Structural Engineering, and VLSI. 

M.Tech. Eligibility Criteria

IIT Mandi M. Tech. Admission through GATE

IIT Mandi M. Tech. admissions are based on the GATE scores that the students obtain. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted by IISc with 7 IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board and other government education councils and committees. Students who are interested in pursuing M. Tech from IIT Mandi must follow the steps given below: 

• The students must register on the IIT Mandi Admission Portal. 

• Post the GATE Exam score release, the students must fill in the details like COAP ID, GATE scores and specialisation preference. 

• The students then should pay the application fee. 

• Post that, the students are invited for an interview or counselling, which they must attend.

Students who have a GPA of 8.0 and above, may apply directly for M. Tech. at IIT Mandi. They are not required to appear for GATE.
