Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee provides various types of placement opportunities to the students studying in their final year. According to the IIT Roorkee NIRF data 2023 available, a total of 764 UG 4-year students were placed in the campus drive. The median salary package offered to the UG 4-year students is Rs. 17,00,000. Whereas, IIT Roorkee placement median salary package offered to the PG Integrated 5-year students is Rs. 22,54,000. IIT Roorkee Placement Process 2023

The placement process is divided into three phases.

Phase 1: The company and placement cell takes care of shortlisting pre-placement talks, and visits and also offers internships.
Phase 2: For conducting the interviews, the students apply for the company’s available position. The company uses the students’ resumes and negotiates the appropriate dates with the Placement Cell.
Phase 3: Students are selected for the appropriate job profile and selections are based on the interview process and assessments. Selected students are offered job letters or offers of employment.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the ancient and well-established branches in IIT Roorkee. The placement in mechanical is more than 72% with the rest of the population choosing for higher studies, CAT and UPSC. The average package in Mechanical Engineering is more than 10 Lacs.
