Passed two-year Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy

Passed advanced level General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka)

Passed HSC examination of Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma, Geneva

  Or

Passed 10+2 equivalent examination from a public school/board/university recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

  Or

Passed HSC vocational examination

SSC examination, conducted by National Open Schooling with minimum 5 subjects

B.Tech graduates from IITs with a minimum of 8 CGPA for general and 7.5 CGPA for SC/ST are eligible for admission without GATE scores

Candidates who have passed B.Tech or M.Sc. through distance mode and have qualified GATE can also apply

Candidates sponsored by organisations recognised by the senate and foreign nationals without GATE qualification are eligible to apply, subject to the regulations prescribed by the senate

Candidates from government or public sector organisations with AMIE, AESI, AMIM, AMIIChemE, AMIETE with two years of work experience can apply for M.Tech admission without GATE scores

Candidates should have passed bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or master’s degree in Science with a valid GATE score

Engineering graduates from IITs or CFTI having 8 CGPA for general, 7.5 CGPA for OBC-NCL and 7 CGPA for SC/ST candidates can seek admission without a GATE score

Candidates from Centrally Funded Technical Institute should have 8 CGPA for general, 7.5 CGPA for OBC-NCL and 7 CGPA for SC/ST can take direct admission to Ph.D
